Because of the strange Telecommunications rules for Cable/Satellite, I am only able to watch the Twins on the Chicago Comcast station. They black out Bremer and Blyleven, and I have to watch Steve Stone and Ken "The Hawk" Harrelson. They incessantly whine about how the Sox  either get jobbed, have a negative hex or some other supernatural negative aura that affects them when they play in the Hump Dome. They are hoping that after this year, it will right itself. While they usually are very complementary of the "Twinkies" and their brand of baseball, it is still a chore to watch that feed.

To show another example of just how weird those aforementioned rules and regulations are - I am sometimes unable to watch the WIAC football game of the week when they rebroadcast it during the week following the Saturday the game is actually played. What sort of contract would do that?

I was in Minneapolis earlier this week and was able to take in the second game of the Twins/White Sox series.  Buerhle pitched for the WS.  He retired 17 consecutive Twin batters to establish a new Major League Baseball record for consecutive outs at 45.  But he walked a Twin with two outs in the sixth inning.  After that the bottom fell out and the Twins put five runs on the board to beat him and the Sox 5-3.  As a neutral party (I'm a DODGERGUY) it was neat to see Buerhle establish a new record and neat to see the home team win.  The bars are always more fun after a home team victory.

I was disappointed though as I'm collecting minature bats from every stadium I visit and the Twins had sold out their minature bats and weren't getting new ones because they're moving to a new stadium next year.  I guess I'll have to figure out how to get one then.

Badgerwarhawk: They're looking for a bat or two up Nort', too, as a local Eau Claire radio station reported today:

Health officials say a bat got into a restaurant on Water Street early Sunday morning. At least one customer used a hat to capture it, then attempted to kill it by striking the hat containing the bat against a window. The customer then took the bat outside. Anyone who was involved in that incident is advised to call the health department, because bats can carry rabies.

Thanks BDB, I've placed an order.    For the wooden bat, not the furry blind one.   :)

You know who could ****ing wind me up more than my boss right now?

Maybe, MAYBE!, the satan worshipping demon spawn from an unholy Gustie/Tommie copulation.  Maybe.

BDB, you got this gig figured out.  Working for the man can suck more than the latest Kirby SuperVac 9000.

Since the leadership of the MIACPP (Mayor, President et al) decided not to invite the rest of us to MIACPP Night at the Dome the other night,  I have procurred tickets for tonights tilt.

Hope you're in line already, BDB.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole a bike and asked Him to forgive me

Cabrera for a Class A ss hitting .233

On paper that looks like a pretty good deal for the Twins.
