Here's my rundown of the Leinie's lineup, just so I don't sound like a complete hater:

Bad Brews
Leinie's Original - Nasty, I'd take a Hamm's over it, and that's not saying much
Sunset Wheat - Tastes like Fruit Loops
Berry Weiss - Alright, if you're a 16 year old girl
Honey Weiss - if you need to put fruit in it, it's not a good beer
Summer Shandy - see comments for Berry Weiss

Good Brews
Oktoberfest - one of my favorite Oktoberfest brews!
Red - Tasty
Creamy Dark - Haven't had in a while, but I remember it being good

Have Not Tried Yet
Classic Amber
Fireside Nut Brown
1888 Bock

So, there you have it.  They're not all bad, but I don't consider Leinie's a good brewery.

A tradition unrivaled...

I know there's no converting you on any of the 3 subjects Duff.

So, who's all heading for River Falls? Stiffyfest and Hamm's or just Hamm's?

I'm in.

NO UWRF for me.

Duff has to spend every other weekend cleaning up after his horse dog.

We'll be there, along with some extra family.  How 'bout you, BDB?

The Classic Amber is the one I found in NJ.  Very tasty, quite hoppy, it is the one I refered to earlier as full of beery goodness.

Nope, that is cleaned up when it occurs.

Duff will be enjoying Labor Day at the cabin.  If the game was at SJU, I would make it, but UWRF is in the opposite direction.

Yikes, it looks like GAC will probably be my first game this year :(

My son is driving to Olivia on business today.  On his way home he will be making a stop at Mac Kenthun & Wischnack Meats in Young America.  Stiftungsfest burgers for dinner tonight.   ;D

I know, I'm weird.

I like:

A) real sports
B) good beer
C) fish that fight better than a wet sock

:P

Sports where they fight like a wet sock...real (tasty) fish... I'm confused! ;) I will trust your opinion on the beer though!  8)

BDB you old dog.  I'll be there.  Looking forward to seeing you again and hanging out with my buddy Clark!!  Is the radio show going to be on from your store again??  It would be TDT's pleasure to make a guest appearance.  My sources tell me that the listeners thought Johnnie Red and The Mayor were pretty VANILLA a couple years ago!! Shhhhhh......

Personally I think Leinie's is a little bitter all the way around...

Duff, what is your opinion of Sam Adams various beers?  I like SA Light, White Ale and the Summer Ale...

Also have developed a taste for Smithwick...or schmittics is how it is phonetically spoken I believe...

I also hope the radio network covers your cabin location...

BDB, the Stiftungsfestivities will be making the trip to WRF on September 5. Hopefully with your connections you can reserve an area for us at no charge. ;)

ROR, if only your son was returning from Olivia this Friday. He could stop at the Stiftungsfest celebration and I could serve him up a burger. Hairball will be playing Friday night at 9:00 p.m. and the Hollywood Stones Saturday night, same time. This is the 148th Stiftungsfest. The community owes its renowned festival to the Pioneer Maennerchor of Young America, a men's choral society that began the one-day picnic in 1861.

I'm a fan of most Sam Adams I have tried.  Red Hook is one of my favorite brewers.  Surly also makes some great beers.  Surly Furious is just awesome!

You must have learned that from a German.  No Sch sound - just Smit-iks, or even SmiΘ-iks.

And if you like what you get in a bottle here, you'll absolutely love what they pour from a tap in Ireland. ;)

Of course, nobody would believe me if I said I wouldn't drink Summit Extra Pale Ale if it was the last beer on earth. But it would, truly, have to be the last beer on earth.
