A good pass rush can make db's look much better also.

Most interesting football stats of the weekend and a quiz...........

QB for team sets record for completions and attempts going 43 for 67 and 362 yards.

His favorite target of the game WR has a game record 18 receptions for 190 yards.

How many points did this team score in the game?

corn horn

As long as we're trying to dig up obscure stats, I'm wondering when the last time (before yesterday) a Cobber team recorded receptions to 8 different receivers in a game.Anyone up in the bubble want to venture into that?

Anyone watch the U of M/Air Force game last night? Is it just me, or does Weber/Decker remind you a little bit of Keating/Elliot? ;D

Could the Johnnies benefit by employing a little bit of the Air Force "stealth" offense?

Has the White Silly showed his face this season.  I have been hoping for a sighting.

Damn Klop, I knew that something has been missing but couldn't place it, now if only he can get another travel pass from his home planet we will be set.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

There's no better remedy for an inexperienced secondary than a game against the Cobbers.

That said, if Concordia IS able to pass the ball this weekend we're pretty much f'ed.

I would never dishonor the legendary Blake Elliott by drawing comparisons to rodents.

I thought the Gopher offense was terrible last night...and those awful uniforms.  Go back to plain old maroon and gold.

As for the Johnnies.
I don't think we deserve #6 in the nation.  I do think UWEC is good...maybe better than most thought.  I think the Johnnie offense is going to be solid.  They played a lot of guys yesterday in order to check them out and keep them fresh w/ the heat.  The running backs I'd go with are Reding, Johnson, and Awe and maybe a little Schnieder.  They really need to pick one or two to feed the ball to.  Same w/ WR.  A lot of guys got looks...time to narrow it down to a few.
The defense is a work in progress.  Need to get some pressure and get help in the d-backfield.  On the first UWEC td it looked like our corner  thought he had safety help over the top.  On the other one the same corner bit on the to help on the inside slant and his guy ran right past him on the outside.  Their all good smart kids and will learn from yesterday.

Agreed, Horan likes the option play too much.  Larsen is a fantastic QB and he can lower his shoulder to gain a few yrds but its only one weapon, we need more.  I wish we had a better throwing game, but saturday will be exciting no matter what happens.  Always one of my favorite games of the year.

For the first time in quite a while, Concordia had nearly as many passing yards for the game as rushing. Bit of a rarity for the Cobbs. Larson looks very good at QB and seems very poised. When he steps back to throw and there's no one open, he'll take off like a shot. Reminds me of Vince Young or even Terrell Pryor. Should be a good brawl this upcoming weekend.

Hey Cobber,

As a fellow Buckeye fan...did Pryor play last night? I didn't see much on offense in that game. :'( Two games in the last three the defense has been asked to hold for one more drive and have not been able to because of the amount of time they have been forced to play the entire game. We need a real O coordinator.

Are you going to the Cobber/ST John's game next week?
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Yeah Pryor played last night. He didn't look so good to be honest. He ran well, but he made several poor passing decisions. Almost made me puke the way we gave them the game. We just can't win the big ones lately.

And yeah, I'll be there. My son plays for Concordia so there's no questioning my presence at the game.

Well the Oles looked impressive in their non-conference matchups.  They gave up a net NEGATIVE 53 yds rushing in the two games thus far.

Now its on to the important games...TOMMY WEEK!

As I said before, the Tommies are overrated and come next Sat. will fall to the Ole onslaught by double digits

Numbers looked good for the Oles. I know that Pac Lute has been down in the last couple years out in the NWC but a team who seems to hang around long enough to be dangerous. Congrats on the 2-0 start, Oles. And as for the double digit win against the Tommies-- UM YA YA!!
