He also knew that Andy Passanante was the greatest receiver in the history of football.  Where is he now??? :D

Selling insurance in the greater Moorhead area?

USTBench,
What are you doing with your life? Insurance salesman?  Grounds foreman at UST?

Back to the topic at hand (that's 'at' hand, Tommie coeds, not 'in' hand): the Pipers.  Is there any thought for this week?

Other news: only 9 days remaining until I board that big jet airplane to see the rivalry of the year (hard to top last weekend for game of the year).  Getting excited (insert Tommie clarification and disclaimer here).

Yawner, 56 to 7 SJU. Oh, and Hamline can't punt. Went to the game two weeks ago...they literally couldn't do it. Bad snaps, blocks, punter just missing it. Hamline finally just started going for it a la a game of Madden.

Bench,

How was the "Lead Pipe Defense" looking against the Tomcats?

Are you out of law school yet, and back in the TC?

Have you seen J. Kaiser lately?

The "Lead Pipe Defense" is a pretty suspect product. Once a back gets to the second level it's pretty much over. They have some ok D-Linemen, and with the field position UST kept getting and the length of time they were out there they got pretty tired. They have a pretty good kick returner/WR named Alex House and their QB wasn't bad when he could actually stand and deliver a throw.

I see A. Kaiser more than J. Kaiser. Jon is getting his MBA I believe, at the U of M. Andy is down in Sioux Falls doing CPA stuff and helping his wife run a fashion boutique of all things.

Closed Circuit to the Mayor: No sweat TDT has secured tickets.  Now the question becomes will I attend?

Any other members of the MIACPP going to the game on Tuesday at 4pm at the HomerDome?

I will not be in attendance for the twinkies game this afternoon.  Does anyone know why the game starts at 4?  Looks like I will have to leave work early to watch the game!

TDT,

You have to attend the game when was the last time the twins played 163 games?  Oh, right last year they did!  There is always next year if you don't attend todays game!

Its  a 4pm start because the winner will hustle to fly to NYC to rumble with the Yanks...by the way AM 660 has a special pregame show starting at 3pm for this showdown complete with an interview with Frank Viola...

Now about Hamline...their QB had a career day against the Auggies and was named the MIAC offensive player of the week:  Hamline University sophomore quarterback Adam Meyer (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) tied a Hamline school record in Saturday's win, throwing for 375 yards. The Pipers brought home the Hammer Trophy for the first time, spoiling Augsburg's homecoming with a 38-28 victory. Hamline set a new school record for total team passing yards in a game with 402 yards and the Pipers tallied 563 total yards of offense in the game. Meyer threw for three touchdowns, including TD passes of 75 and 80 yards in the game. He had no interceptions and no sacks.

So the Johnnies secondary needs to be on their toes...I guess the Auggy D which prides itself on stopping the run, had issues with the Pipers WR and let a few of them run by them

This defense the Johnnies will be facing is one that they put a 40 spot up on last season and I expect that opportunities will be there for Joe Boyle and company this Satuday, however Joe might be missing one of his favorite targets as Josh Overman is a little hobbled after the Royal Rumble Saturday...this could be a chance for Johnnies fans to get a look at Wade Powers an ultra-talented youngster from New London Spicer...

As we saw on Saturday the Johnnies special teams can make things happen with a partial block and some pressure on the punter so if the rumors of Piper issues on special teams are true it could make for some short fields...

Jimmy Good is a very good coach and will have them ready and will try to take away some of the things that worked last year for SJU...they really could have two wins in conference this year and based on scores from other games I think they have a chance to be .500 in conference and maybe surprise someone down the stretch, just hopefully not on Saturday.

Very nice!  I don't enjoy fast drivers as much as dressing for a game at bethel then have to walk 4 miles to the football field uphill both ways!

What a Hamline QB did against a terrible pass D will have little say in his game this week.

That surprises you? Swanberg was shaky at best in his days there too.

It is now official. We will have two Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders at the Stiftungfestivities on Saturday, October 17 when the Tommies come to Collegeville. The cheerleader babes will be there from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Unfortunately, they will probably be dressed in purple.

Would it be ok for me to bring about 10 pounds of slow smoked (20 hours), bbq pulled pork?  I plan on starting it in my smoker on Friday.

If not, let me know and I will get you a key to my house.  Just leave it in the fridge.

Fins,

You were the only one to nail the MIAC games, but you probably knew that! You and I were the only ones to pick Carleton (your doorman). Had you gotten Geneva / W&J right, you would have been the first to run the table.

Does your dog know how to get in the fridge yet? Oh 10 lbs would just be a snack.

He won't be home--it'll be safe.  We'll be enjoying the sand and sun of Puerto Rico while the Johnnies embarass the TomToms.
