I shall note that I spent about 15 minutes @ UST today it was a paltry excuse for a homecoming.  They may well challenge the Jays on Saturday but their homecoming sucked the proverbial ASS!  Why anyone D3 football player would play anywhere other than Collegeville is hard to understand.

Touchdown Tommy

Vic: Duly noted.  This will be prominently mentioned in TDT's column this week.  Lots of interesting things were observed at USTD this afternoon...

Thanks for the clarification. There are just some obvious mistakes in the box score there. I'd hate to see it not changed and drag the overall stats down because of it.

I pointed them out to the right person and I believe the stats have been fixed.

I reckon that UST(d)'s performance on Saturday will be inversely proportional to their representation here.  In other words, the more Tommies that show up here, the more likely the Tommies will produce an epic fail.  The fewer Tommies here, the better the chances for the Tommie players to walk away with a moral victory, if not the real deal.

Three football fans were on their way to a game when one noticed a foot sticking out of the bushes by the side of the road.

They stopped and discovered a nude female dead drunk. Out of respect and propriety, the Johnnies supporter took off his hat and placed it over her right breast. The Cobbers supporter took off his hat and placed it over her left breast. Following their lead, the Tommies supporter took off his hat and placed it over her crotch.

The police were called and when the officer arrived, he conducted his inspection. First, he lifted up the Johnnie hat, replaced it, and wrote down some notes. Next, he lifted the Cobber hat, replaced it, and wrote down some more notes. The officer then lifted the Tommie hat, replaced it, then lifted it again, replaced it, lifted it a third time, and replaced it one last time.

The Tommie fan was getting upset and finally asked, "What are you, a pervert or something? Why do you keep lifting and looking, lifting and looking?"

"Well," said the officer. "I am simply surprised. Normally when I look under a Tommie hat, I find an a**hole!"

Little Tommie was at school one morning and the teacher asked all the children what their big brothers did for a living.

All the typical answers came out, Fireman, Policeman, Salesman, Chippy, Captain of Industry etc, but little Tommie was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his brother.

"My brother runs a meth lab and teenage prostitution racket. Sometimes, if an offer is really good, he'll bump off someone's spouse for cash."

The teacher quickly set the other children some work and took little Tommie aside to ask him if that was really true.

"No" said Tommie, "He plays football for UST(d) but I was just too embarrassed to say."

Well faunch, comments like that might be a good place to start.

Last one... a repeat?

A primary teacher explains to her class that she is an UST fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are UST fans. Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says, "Mary, why didn't you raise your hand?"

"Because I'm not a Tommie fan," she replied.

The teacher, still shocked, asked, "Well, if you are not a Tommie fan, then who are you a fan of?"

"I am a SJU fan, and proud of it," Mary replied.

The teacher could not believe her ears. "Mary, why, pray tell, are you a Johnnie fan?"

"Because my Mum is a Johnnie fan and my Dad is a Johnnie fan, so I'm a Johnnie fan too!"

"Well," said the teacher in a obviously annoyed tone, "that is no reason for you to be a SJU fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mum was a prostitute and your dad was a drug addict, what would you be then?"

"Then," Mary smiled, "I'd be an UST fan."

Game on...Nice chuckles OZ...see you Saturday.

I think this game will be similiar to the Bethel game, FG either way...although I thought I heard rumor of someone saying the Js would not get within three TD's of the Tommies...

keep the jokes coming fellas...

Rough day at Auggie Tech.  Carleton shot themselves in the foot way too much.  Really hurts to lose that one, this year they really need to beat the teams they should beat.  I'm not sure if they should beat Gustavus.

By the way, I am amazed at the wide support I received for the chip on my shoulder.  I believe it is well deserved and want to thank everyone for voting for me.

I'm putting my early prediction at UST by 5.

And just to point out....I was three points off in my SJU Hamline prediction.

Well since I have seen SJU in person, and UST yesterday online, I will give my 2 cents on what I think may happen.

The Cobbers seemed to run somewhat efficiently yesterday, with the better being that they didn't fumble. The Tommie pass defense is pretty stout. Larson was able to find some holes and get passes in, but there were also quite a few mistakes there too. 3 INT's and 2 nearly picked. Waldvogel is a tough SOB to defend. He's quick and elusive. He had 79 yards in the first Qtr.

Could be a helluva game for you 2 teams. But with the Clemens magic, I see the Johnnies winning by 9.

Johnnie Red

Always nice to see the Johnnies featured on WCCO tv yesterday afternoon with Mike Max. The first touchdown by Redding was featured.

Willy Wonka

Well, my Gusties held PLU receiver Greg Ford to 13 catches for 292 yards and four touchdowns yesterday...and still somehow won the game in the final seconds. It was ugly, cold and GAC's first win on Homecoming since approximately 1945.

Who's next?!?!
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.
