I shall note that I spent about 15 minutes @ UST today it was a paltry excuse for a homecoming.  They may well challenge the Jays on Saturday but their homecoming sucked the proverbial ASS!  Why anyone D3 football player would play anywhere other than Collegeville is hard to understand.

::) ::) ::) ::)

Well faunch, comments like that might be a good place to start.

I would like to clarify my comment.  My point was that for a homecoming the environment @ UST was rather blah.  Their "stadium" wasn't even filled and as a I walked across the campus during the 4th quarter it was void of people.  Again it perplexes me why any kid would choose to play college football at school that has smaller crowds than many high school games.  I was at a Cretin/Stillwater game at UST a couple years ago and it was a bigger crowd than UST's homecoming yesterday.
Also...You think I would learn to not come home from a party and post comment after midnight, after I've had a couple.

Vic: Duly noted.  This will be prominently mentioned in TDT's column this week.  Lots of interesting things were observed at USTD this afternoon...

TDT;  That's good cuz DustySJU won't have to call you with a deadline or have early week brainstorming session to discuss story lines.

Saturday should be a dandy.

A man enters a bar and orders a drink. The bar has a robot bartender. The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, and then asks him, "What's your IQ?" The man replies "150" and the robot proceeds to make conversation about quantum physics, spirituality, biomimicry, string theory, and nano-technology.

The customer is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool." He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the perfectly prepared drink and asks him, "What's your IQ?" The man responds, "about a 100."

Immediately the robot starts talking, but this time, about football, baseball, supermodels, favorite fast foods, and women's breasts.

Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He returns, the robot serves him and asks, "What's your IQ?" The man replies, "Er, 50, I think."

And the robot says ... real slowly ... "so ......... ya gonna cheer for St Thomas again this year?"

I don't know if anyone saw the scores in the star trib today.  But Martin Luther absolutely crushed Northwestern.  9-7!

Ok, undefeated through 5, I'm committed to being there Saturday. Will stop by Stiftungfest and bring a tasty snack for the first time in 5 years.

We might not be so nice this time.  Five years ago we were confident we'd crush you guys.  ;D

Was accosted by the Hamline photog/media security (i.e., Athletic Director Bob Beeman) at the start of the 3rd quarter and informed that I needed to move over to the SJU sideline. :-[  Doing so, however, cut the Hamline Homecoming crowd by about 5%.  Sad to see what a small crowd they had; SJU fans outnumbered them.  Heck, the SJU post-game party at O'Gara's nearly outnumbered them.  Nice facility though; would it hold over 1000?

Edit: Hamline claims stadium capacity is 2000 and that there was a crowd yesterday of 1748.  No way on the latter.  Stadium was more than half full, at least in the first half, but nowhere close to full.  They lost a lot of people at halftime, at least on the Hamline side.  Mostly red in the second half.

For cryin' out loud... the field goal went through
Bethel mishandled the kick-off
You didn't go 0-4.
But you guys cannot keep running onto the field.
That might have thrown the Greatest Reliever of All Time Mariano's timing off.

Troublemaker.

It wasn't like I was wandering around through their team like you do.  I wasn't within 30 yards of their friggen players.  He had to go out of his way to call me out.

Thanks for the monopod though.  Very nice; Pete has it.
