Oz is no dummy and I am quite sure the extra point comment was a jab at the host of anti Johnnie folks out there.  Plus I don't really see too many repercussions from the J's not covering the MIAC pick 'ems spread.   ::)

You got everything right except for one thing: I am a dummy.

Don't beat yourself up to bad for the J's not covering and you picking them in the pickems.  Got to support your team! ;D ;D ;D

apparently he has had several so there was extra concern.

I would hope so.

Yeah...at a certain point it's not worth it. As much as people would like to see a speedy return, I hope Hilliard considers hanging 'em up. I would hate to see something awful happen.

1.  Beautiful day in Collegeville.

2.  Agreed....the officiating was horrendous.  Those clowns didn't seem to have a flag in their pocket the first half.  I've got a picture an obvious holding and another of an obvious block in the back.  And yes...Waldvogel was friggin' mugged @ the end of the 1st half.

3.  I think Boyle's thumb is more messed up than anyone thought.  That would explain the Jays lack of a passing game.

4.  It's funny that even though he is a right handed quarterback Morse cannot make the pass to right side of the field.  On the 1st quarter interception the SJU CB Powell fell down and still picked it off because the pass was so bad.

5.  I keep thinking of the quote by Gags earlier this season about keeping the game close and the Tommies will find a way to screw it up.  Maybe he should substitute Tommies with Jimmy (what the hell was with that screen in the 4th quarter)?  The QB draw was a good call but the screen sucked.

6.  I heard that the bad snap on the punt was a result of some mis-communication.  Evidently the Johnnines were going to fake it w/ a short snap to up back however he audibled out of it and the long snapper didn't hear it?  Can anybody confirm this?

6.  What happend to ROR on the sidelines?

Faunch, the pulled pork was fantastic.     Thanks for the great taste.       I'm hoping it will make another appearance this year.

After the hit I took on the side line today I might have to retire.   ;)

After I take the hit I hear some one yell "get out of the way old man."  I angrily turn around and ask the crowd of young punks behind me who said that.  A grinning Willy Wonka says "me."  >:(

P.S.  Does anyone know a good personal injury attorney?

Reminds me of the Jack Lemon/Walter Mathau movie "Fortune Cookie."

What a great game today.

Looks like TC, TDT, and Maniac will have some crow to eat at our next tailgate.  I'll bet my last dollar that TDT won't consume his portion, though.  He'll probably just hide it in a pocket of his nice girly winter coat.  And whatever you do, please do not ask him about his NICE winter coat or you will get a 15 minute story about he searched for a deal forever and then scored a girly version at an 80 % discount.  Who cares!!

Nice seeing OAS, his bride to be, Wonka, ROR, ROR Jr, and being able to meet Oz today, albeit briefly.

I think that today may have been the largest Stiftungsfest we have ever had.  I'm looking forward to next week.

GO JOHNNIES!!!

What is with TDT and his winter wardrobe.... must be time for him to fly south with the rest of the snow birds.

My small pack of born and bread Minnesotans had no problem battling the pure sunshine and 45 degree weather with just a mere hoodie.

I hope TDT is around to see the end of the season.

TDT, love the coat.     You got style!     You had it on at the UWW game last fall and nary a word.     So what's with the ration of s%#@  you're getting for it?   Good thing I didn't let the fellas know I had on my LLBean silk long underwear (excellent product by the way)  on or i would have heard about the lingerie!

Ha nice sleuthing Redtooth.  And Clark you've really been on your game lately.  +K

Tmerton:  Email me tomorrow.  Do I have a story for you...

Lots more to get to.  Looks like Veek has been telling some "white lies" and TC has called him on it.  Kudos TC for a job well done.  Nothing sneaks by the crack staff of JF.com...

Wonka can you please explain this "temper tantrum" on the sideline by Ryan Coleman?  Sounds ridiculous and juicy...

Speaking of Wonka.   Take a look at the last couple pages of photos of the game on d3.    the shots of Kellen Blaser crossing the goal line with arms outstretched.   You'll see a tall guy with a distinctive brown-ish  baseball cap standing in the middle of the sidelines crowd.    That you Wonka?   If so, you had quite the view.

Of course you like TDT's coat; it goes with your periwinkle colored car. 8)

Someone just sent me this alleged factoid about St. Paul.  Is it true? :o  If so, how about recovering the old name to preserve history?  It would be appropriate for the schools located there.

St. Paul, Minnesota, was originally called Pig's Eye after a man named Pierre 'Pig's Eye' Parrant who set up the first business there.

I couldn't figure out a way to embiggen the pictures on here...but that is indeed the one and only. My tears came roughly .2 seconds after that picture was taken. I'm glad ROR isn't big on the emotional shots or I might be a little embarrassed right now...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Are your fans always standing that close to the playing field?

The angle of the photos is a bit deceiving so the fans are  farther back than may appear.    Generally, you can stand by the field ( a few yards off)  except by the benches for the teams.    and when there's just shy of 13, 000 people in the stadium,  there were quite a few people on the sidelines by necessity.      some may have encroached a bit.

If memory serves me correctly, before the addition of the fence in the North end zone (in front of the student section), along with a few other changes, fans would stand even closer to the playing field.
I can remember a few games my freshman year ('03) when people were practically leaning on the goal posts.
Sometime around 2005 they moved the restraining line back another 3 feet or so (I think).

LBean is right in saying that the photo is quite deceptive.

Tmert - how's # 13 feeling?  I heard his name over the radio as being hurt on my way to the craft fair.

That was just a cramp.  But he's sore.

See ya next week.  The food and the games just keep getting better and better.  I'm wondering though if the reserves are going to get any playing time this year.

Just noticed Adam Herbst was listed as a back judge for Saturday's game in Collegeville.
This is the same former All-MIAC Johnnie Wide Receiver from the mid-90s?

Gags can't be happy about another one going to the "dark side."

LBean - -k for creating four individual posts in a row instead of one nice comprehensive post.  I'll +k you tomorrow, however, for your excellent post above wherein you congratulated TDT for his attire.  That's proof enough that I was spot on with my previous posts about TDT's NICE winter coat.  Maybe he will wear his pink sweater this Saturday, too.
:)
