Veek's got kids, which is a testament to the fact that he can get laid...by a woman...which is something I doubt either TDT or TC can accomplish without a substantial cash payment :o

Fixed it for you.  I reckon you were being a bit hard on them.

Added in the one word you forgot.

There was story in the Chicago tribune today about Charlie Weiss and his friendship with a Boston College player fighting cancer. Football isn't life or death and coaches can respect each other and the opposing players without losing face.

Good article...cancer is tough stuff as the Benchwarmer knows, (puts things in perspective):

Okay, okay...

We can be glad that the games are competitive and your rivals are someone worth hating again. In other words, Glenn Caruso is the exact opposite of Don Roney and this is such a good thing it makes me want to cry. Duff,

Ever try this / or been to this bar in the B.V. I.?  Good Times!

Foxy's is a great place, in fact, their Halloween celebration is quite legendary. Located in Great Harbour on Jost Van Dyke, B.V.I., it's just around the corner from Sydney's Peace & Love in Little Harbour. Sydney and his daughter Rena serve up some of the best fresh caught lobster in the world. Great bar, too. You write the name of your boat on a chalkboard, then go behind the bar and mix your own drink or grab a beer, and put a slash mark on the board.

Fins,

Have you ever left a hat or other items on the wall at Foxy's?
I've been there a couple times, lots of fun!
When I was there, all I had on were trunks and t-shirt, so any items left behind would've caused a scene.  :o

The Sizzle is served.

Very good story.  Espn college gameday was at BC earlier this year.  I guess he was projected to be a top 10 draft pick before he got diagnosed with cancer.

While he was on the set of gameday  he announced that he was 99% sure he was cancer free and he is going to return next year to play his senior year at BC.  Pretty cool stuff.

Touchdown Tommy

Great post Benchwarmer.  TDT jokes around on the MIACPP a lot but football is obviously inconsequential in the scheme of things.  Every one of us has been touched by cancer in some way, shape, or form.  The Jimmy V Foundation is really a tremendous organization.  I remember watching the ESPYs that fateful night in the early 90s when Jim Valvano got up to speak as his health was quickly failing him.

He was a quote machine and really nailed it that night...

Cancer can take away all of my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul.

and

To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.

"Berlin brothel offers discounts to 'green' clients"

STUNG by the economic crisis, a brothel in Berlin has leapt on the "green" bandwagon and is offering discounts to clients who can prove they arrived by public transport or bicycle - with some success.

"Everyone's a winner," explained Regina Goetz, a former prostitute who runs the Maison d'envie (House of Desire) brothel in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg...

Fifteen minutes in the brothel costs €25 ($37) rather than €30 for environmentally-conscious punters...

Fifteen minutes?!?

"Miss Plastic favourite Alexandra Horvath boobs up"

THE hot favourite to win the Miss Plastic  title this weekend was forced to pull out of the competition after her breast implants landed her in hospital.

Blonde Alexandra Horvath, 23, tore a ligament when she tripped after passing the breast examination stage of the contest...

A friend said: 'She had not got used to the extra weight on top and her new hair extensions got in her eyes - she just lost her balance and tore a ligament in her foot badly.'

Okay, okay...

So let me get this straight:

1) If it wasn't for "short fields," some bad mistakes, etc...SJU would've won 56 to 0. UST got outplayed all game. Their D sucked and the only reason they were in it was essentially that SJU players had tripped over their own feet a number of times.

2) Glenn Caruso is a media whore because he's been on KSTP and a few local radio shows.

3) Glenn Caruso should have to pay "homage" to Gags by getting on one knee and kissing his rings.

4) Glenn Caruso shouldn't be such a rah rah guy...he should concede the point that UST/SJU game is predetermined and we should focus on sneaking into the back door of the playoffs.

5) Glenn Caruso should not say "them" or "they" when referring to mighty SJU. He should call them the "Big Red Machine" or the "3 time National Champion St. John's University Johnnies"

It's not exactly Hayes v. Schembechler, nor will it ever be, but Glenn Caruso is not supposed to like you. He supposed to want to beat the hell out of you..and if he doesn't it should keep him up at night.  In addition, he should be excited about his football team and not be satisfied with with 6 and @#%!ing 4!

Go to hell SJU!

Except everyone on MIACPP, I like you guys.

Hey, just be glad Gags didn't invoke his right of prima nocta! ::)

And Bench, I was referring to the 50+ yard TD pass to win the game at the buzzer over the weekend. It was a good day to be an ASU fan :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

well Washed Up, I would say that is the great thing about football, you can learn from you mistakes and make adjustments for the next game.

Also, for the CC game, Olaf was missing a crucial part of its offense: starting center Drew Penz.  Having him back and 100% healthy will be a HUGE boost to the Oles up front.

You can learn, but Oles tend to be slow learners.

As to the right of prima nocta...at SJU, you never know.

As to ASU...I really need to get cable.

Those are just the choir pukes that are slow.  They need us athletes to balance them out to keep the academic statistics up.

Plus we didn't have to learn fast.  We had 2 weeks to take care of business.

Nice shot.

As for Oles v SJU...I don't know, I think the Oles would have to see significant improvement in the QB play to make this upset.  The Johnnies LBs are better than Bethels, and unless Clark takes over the game, they'll have trouble doing much of anything against them.

On the flip side.  I do think the Ole's D could keep them in the game.  More so because of the one-sidedness of SJU's O than the strength of the Ole D.  But for this to happen, the Ole O would need to play well enough to keep the Ole D rested.

All in all, if the Oles play remotely like they did against Carleton, they're done for.  If Clark busts a couple big plays and the fatties up front for Olaf stuff the running game, then it definitely could be a game.  I would bet on the former, but they nearly upset them last year.
