1. Linfield 6-0 7-0
2. Central (Iowa) 8-0 8-0
3. St. John's (Minnesota) 8-0 8-0
4. Wisconsin-Whitewater 5-0 7-0
5. Monmouth 8-0 8-0
6. St. Thomas (Minnesota) 6-1 6-1
7. Coe 6-1 6-1
8. Occidental 5-1 5-1
9. Cal Lutheran 5-1 5-1
10. Wisconsin-Stevens Point 4-1 5-2

Ok, so if UWW beats UWSP-will they jump SJU and Central and Linfield? And will Central drop if UWW beats UWSP?

West Region
1. Linfield 6-0 7-0
2. Central 8-0 8-0
3. St. John's 8-0 8-0
4. UW-Whitewater 5-0 7-0
5. Monmouth 8-0 8-0
6. St. Thomas 6-1 6-1
7. Coe 6-1 6-1
8. Occidental 5-1 5-1
9. Cal Lutheran 5-1 5-1
10. UW-Stevens Point 4-1 5-2

So the team that has represented the West in the last 4 Stagg Bowls is the 4th best team in the region?  And Linfield who is having a fine year but has not been in the playoffs since 2005 is the top team this year?  I guess they mean what they say when they go on just this year's results, unless your Mount Union...

I have no idea what drugs the committee took before deciding this, but I would like some...unreal, what a slap in the face to the WIAC.  How does Linfield who has less in region wins than Central or SJU get seeded in front of either of them?  If this holds true...would the NCAA flip Coe and USTd so that conference rivals don't face each other in the first round?  I think that would be a fun playoff re-match against the Kohawks for SJU...

NCAA releases regional rankings:
http://www.d3football.com/dailydose/category/regional-rankings/

So they just picked names out of a hat, then?

Actually, that makes about as much sense as ordering teams by OW% and OOW% would.

I am completely dumbfounded-- they didn't do it by OW%, and they certainly didn't do it by OOW%.  And we know they didn't give more weight to in-region wins; nor did they do it by a record over regionally ranked opponents.  Perhaps they did it to keep Mt Union in the North and give credence to Linfield being the #1 seed in the South.

If I were a cheesehead, I would be very, very displeased (for more than obvious reasons, too).

There are 3 weeks remaining in the regular season.....a lot can happen guys. Take deep breaths......

The offical brackets that will be announced November 15 are what really matters, but this does seem to set a pattern for moving someone out of the West, perhaps even 2 teams. Linfield to the South and Whitewater to the North (again moving Mount to the East) - this is all speculation at this point, but fun speculation.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I could see that happening...here is a scary thought...SJU goes 10-0 but because of some quirky formula they are on the road at Monmouth...

Despite some shaky second half defense the last couple of weeks the Men of Troy have held on for a couple of wins. They will need to play a complete game if they want to beat Bennie's Ducks this Saturday!

Tmert, how are my favorite girls doing?

Beats the help outta me, Sum.  Did I ever tell you that I served on a committee in the LA Archdiocese with a woman who had 4 daughters who were Southern Cal(!) song girls?  Very nice woman but obviously not much of a mother. ;)

There was only one school my boys knew they would have had no parental support to attend. 8)

Monmouth head coach Steve Bell a Bemidji State grad.

Only 1380 students.   And 55% are female.    Didn't see any farm animals on the website so I assume the remaining 45% are male.

It will be interesting to see if these rankings affect the two top 25 polls.  Compared to the polls, these rabnkings are in crazyland.  Will the pollsters be influenced by the committee or will they call the Air Force to contact the Aliens Infection Unit as it appears the committee maybe under the influence of space-based mind rays.

It's almost as if the committee thinks a shake-up is in order and if they teams can't provide it, then they will.  Or maybe they did the other regions first and time was running out on the Denny's dinner special so they just picked names from a hat with the West.
