For Willy:

Reading New York Magazine's sports blog - run by Leitch - and came across the headline: Ryan Hoag: Hero, icon, virgin.

http://nymag.com/daily/sports/2009/10/ryan-hoag-hero-icon-virgin.html

I need a barf bag.

I actually needed an inhaler after laughing all of the air out of my lungs:

"1. He started playing college football after being cut from the Wake Forest soccer team for sleeping through a practice.
2. He was the last player taken by the Raiders in the 2003 NFL Draft, earning him the nickname Mr. Irrelevant. He was cut because of a wide-receiver logjam involving someone named Jerry Rice.
3. He was signed to the Giants practice squad in 2003. On May 10, 2004, he spoke to a New Jersey high school and announced he was a virgin. (It's a Christianity thing.) He was cut ten days later. Cause and effect?
4. From 2004 to 2008, the Jaguars, Vikings, and Redskins of the NFL, and Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, cut Ryan.
5. In 2008, Deanna of The Bachelorette cut Ryan. She cited Ryan's professional-athlete lifestyle as a deal-breaker. The man who eventually won her heart? A professional snowboarder.
6. Ryan has expressed a desire to teach kindergarten.
7. Ryan is a part-time model.
8. The Sentinels signed him in August.
9. In September, he was battling Preston Brown for a wide-receiver slot. Ryan triumphed. Brown may have been distracted by his day job: at-large councilman for the City of Camden, New Jersey.
10. Ryan turns 30 next month, still hoping to catch his first professional pass in a meaningful game. Tonight may be the night!"

Couldn't resist and just checked the box score.  Last night was not the night for that first catch in a "meaningful game".  8 players caught passes and none of them were Mr. Hoag.

Interesting enough though, he did throw 2 passes and was 2 for 2 for 8 yards.  Time for a position change?

Glad to see former Viking and high school teammate to Bench, Brooks Bollinger is the face of the UFL and odds on favorite for MVP.

Really?  The announcer at the end has an Aussie accent and that add has run down here.  On the off chance you were pulling legs, I tried to find some background on the add but came up short (ha, ha).

I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

How about Song Girl Friday???

Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to encourage you to start posting again.

Embiggened.  You're all welcome.  (A special thank you to the mothers that raise their daughters to dance around in sweaters one size too small)

Granted, Duff, they're good looking - just not the sharpest pencils in the box. :D  (Not just once - but twice)

How about some ducks instead?

I think that might be the dance team, not the cheerleaders! :D

I love Halloween on a college campus! This morning Peter Pan rode by me on a bike and the ROTC cadets were encouraged to wear costumes for their morning PT.  There was a ballerina (a female), a green M&M and, most perfect of all, Rambo complete with black flowing wig, red bandana and black tank top/camo pants. Good thing it is relatively warm today and not raining. :D

I used to dress up if Halloween occurred on a teaching day.  One year I happened to be giving a stat exam that day and came as the Grim Reaper.  Four students immediately dropped the class.

[Fortunately, that last line is not true! ;)]
