Touchdown Tommy

Ha CNation I was watching the Ch. 4 news last night at 6pm as well.  When Mike Max said what a great season Bethel was having I knew it would be interesting.  Then the video of Cornish and the rest of the Royals with that screen printed "MIAC Championships" on their practice jerseys was priceless.  I mean C'mon Man!!!  TDT nearly peed himself from the ridiculousness of it all...

Dens:  Just call Touchdown Tommy.  I'll take care of you and GHC and 11.  There is a 5 star palace in Avon,MN.  You'll love it.  Akin to the Casa del Mar in Santa Monica...

BTW: Public Transportation is non-existent in Central MN.  You rent a car from MSP or hitchhike with W. Clark as he passes along 94.

If it comes to it in the playoffs, TDT will break it down for any potential visitors...Call it JohnnieFootball.com's Chamber of Commerce

TDT,

I already have a hook up in MSP if it comes to that.  A former Linfield QB and teammate of WC11 lives in the twin cities and I would crash at his place.

Regardless, I don't think I would want to stay with TDT because I couldn't get a good nights rest at the MSP local YMCA.  I know it gets it done for you but I don't want to sleep on a cot.

Not to mention the fact that he might try to kill you and wear your face as a mask.

A tradition unrivaled...

Also, I'm worried he might chloroform me and then dress me up in that woman's coat he's been sporting to SJU games.

Regarding Bethel's practice jerseys, I don't see the issue.  For decades they were the dregs of the Tri-State and MIAC conferences.  More recently, under Johnson they have gone from respectability, to contenders, to conference champs.  Yeah, we know our tradition isn't as grand as SJU or Concordia, but I'm all for trying to build pride in the tradition we are building.  Over the past decade we've been one of the most competitive teams in the MIAC and we want to build pride in our program based upon that.

Is a program supposed to suspend taking pride in itself until it has won a national title?  Call us crazy, but at Bethel we think it is a significant accomplishment to win the MIAC title.  We want to remind our players of the tradition they are trying to build on.  We also want to challenge guys when they go to practice of the hard work it takes to be a champion.

It comes off as highly arrogant to criticize a team for trying to build pride in their program.  We realize we don't have the tradition of some, but we can't go back and change the last 75 years.  What we can do is build pride in what the program has done in recent years and challenge each subsequent team to try to take that tradition to the next level.

I don't really see an issue, and I don't really care either way what a team wears as a practice jersey.  If it were me, I'd remind my players by plaques or something on the way to the field and have them focus on the here and now, but to each his own.  I don't think players would really pay attention to it after the first day anyways.

I think I've decided to check out the UST Bethel game this weekend.  As much as I'd like Bethel to win, I'll have to root for UST for a better chance at another playoff bid for the MIAC.  Too bad though, I'm one idiot kicker away from being very close to my prediction of Bethel winning the MIAC.

Two things are certain.  Red Hot Bennie makes 1 appearance a season on Post Patterns and Red Hot Bennie knows how to party...

That's correct... read all about it at www.JohnnieFootball.com

TDT;  I'm guessing RHB still thinks it's Halloween at the Silva's.... it's the only thing I can think of.

Developing....(and so is SJU as THE # 1 seed!)

If it's tradition bethel is building, then look no further to the tradition of obtaining at least 3 or more personal foul penalties per game!  Now that's tradtion!
