Freebird, news flash for you.  It doesn't matter what you say in a post.  You're going to take a karma hit just for breathing.

Did the old man JUST learn that his Johnnies lost on Saturday? Rumor has it he didn't even deem Coe worth the trip up 94...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I think if you look all the way back thru the posts you will NOT find a comment by me that gloats, brags, stuts and/or overstep my bounds as a Tommie fan. If you can, show me, If your right I'll kiss your fat ass on the steps of the State Capitol & give you two days beforehand to draw a crowd.

Hmm, I seem to remember being called an asshole by you for hoping UST and STA would lose.  Pucker up, douche nozzle.   :-*  Or did you mean something else by AH?   ::)  And how about that supposed "hacker" that broke in to your account and posted "his/her" anti-Johnnie sentiments?

Oh, and Sartell's got St. Thomas Academy in the state semi-finals this week.  Hopefully, both Tommie teams lose :)

Wondering... do you practice at being an AH or is it a God Given Talent?

My vote is you practice!!!

Nope, your right AH = Ass Hole, you've done nothing to change my mind in that regard, as for the hacker, the ip address showed it was NOT from my computer, however, Pat said that post appeared to come from a computer that was used in my prior posts? don't know what that means but that's the story & I'm stick'n too it.

Lastly, as far as puckering up? Nothing said it that post warrants a trip to the State Capitol, Sorry Charlie!!!

I think this trash talk is all pretty lame.

St.John's, St.Thomas, the MIAC etal, Coe, the WIAC etc. Fabulous schools and one hell of a tailgate should we all get together for a Twins game. ;) Or better yet, a Wild game.  ;D

My squad went 8-2 and didn't make the playoffs. And they shouldn't have. Losing to Point (by 1) and Whitewater (by plenty) just defines the season that was. Where the team stands in the national scheme of things.

And any dis-talk about John being too old or the WIAC being too dumb or Iowa being too Iowa is just plain silly. Good luck to the teams still playing and I hope you stay healthy.

And btw, let's go to Duff's Sartell Sabres! My wife used to coach volleyball there. In the shadows of the giant paper mill. Used to drink Hamm's in the summer in my backyard and watch the smoke billow out. Guessing Duffman was about 4 then.  8)

I'll keep quite for a while & learn, education is life...

Funny, these days education makes me feel like this:
"How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain - remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive? "

+K to whomever can identify who said this! 8)

Thanks to the Johnnies for a very good season that ended too soon.

I am hoping someone a more familiar with the rules can answer a question for me.  On one Johnnie punt both Coe returners were in position to field the punt.  One signaled for a fair catch, but the other player fielded the punt and attempted to advance.  I thought there should have been a flag.  Was I right? :-\

I saw that too and several people around me thought the same thing.  Honestly, I thought he was just shielding the sun, trying to see the ball.  I don't believe he ever waved in an attempt to signal for a fair catch.

It would be nice if there was a place on people's profiles that they could list their school/team. Then I would know who to smite! ;) ;D***

***-means that I am joking! Just thought I would clarify that for some of our more...serious/literal...posters.

I don't know, but it reminds me of the married with children when Kelly was on the sports trivia show and her brain got full and she forgot who scored 4 touchdowns in one game for Polk High.

Haters, SJU Rubes, Raider Guy, et al,

Get your clicker fingers ready for some Benchwarmer smite.

Ahem...Where I am very impressed with Mt. Union's ability to lower their admissions standards so low that they can actually take the football players that can't hack it academically at Ohio St. I do not feel they are a better team than Whitewater this year. In addition, it is a fact that President William McKinley enjoyed his matriculation at Allegheny exponentially more than his time at Mt. Union. As it was documented in a letter to his parents: "Dearest Mother and Father, Alliance sucks and smells like hot dog water. I am transferring to Allegheny and then fighting in what is sure to be a bloody Civil War because it sucks so bad. Your Son, William." If you feel slighted by these comments I will say I should have started Pierre Garcon over Steve Breaston yesterday.

Other than that, it should be pointed out that everything Linfield, SJU, Mt. Union and Whitewater have done in the last decade really doesn't have anything to do with 2009. You can continue to congratulate yourself on your past successes and continue to say, "Whatever, you guys make the playoffs for the first time in 19 years so you think you can brag" as much as you want. But the fact remains the same: SJU turned the ball over a billion times and lost. UST scored a bunch and won. SJU's season is done. UST's is not. That sucks for you and I'm sorry. But not really.

UST may win on Saturday, they may lose. They may lose to Linfield or Mary Hardin Baylor or win. They may go to Whitewater and get pounded by 30. Doesn't matter. Because in 2010, if SJU goes further in the playoffs than UST I'm not going to say, "Whatever, we made it farther than you in 2009."

USTbench,

OOOHHHH The admissions card played by someone who's team has non scholarship athletes on special grant non-scholarships. ??? Those same players that can't hack it at St Johns so they get in at USTD.

I seriously doubt there was any time spent learning about Mounts admissions policy. Where did you get the info about OSU reject recruits? It is something that has been speculated about for years by those who are not willing to admit Mount might just be doing it the right way with smart kids that happen to be athletes. They have to be smart to have the success the program has experienced. Your accusation is a bunch of horse $hip.

The graduation rate of Mount's players is a higher % than their winning % on the football field. I am sure that is true at USTD too. Don't you wish your winning % on the field was at least a little closer? Even in 2009. A memorable season that includes a second place finish in the MIAC and a loss to SJU. I seriously wish you luck the remainder of the season and maybe we'll see you in Salem, VA. If MOUSCU is fortunate to get there too. ;)

As far as President McKinley is concerned ???He just couldn't HACK IT at Mount so he went to Allegheny instead. He didn't have the Nuts to tell his mother the truth.....so he wrote that bogus letter ::) hotdogs?
Last I looked he still became President of the United States even though his grades may not have been the best. Let me know when the next Tommy becomes President will ya? ;D

Gig Harbor Cat!

Hello back my old friend!  Always staying warm proudly wearing my Gray Linfield Hoodie!!  I hope you are doing well!
Sam (9) and Will (11) are keeping me plenty busy!  Just wrapped up the youth football season.  What a thrill to coach both my kids on same team!  Will was my QB and did very well, and Sam (who is 65 lbs soaking wet) was my most fearless hitter!  Now the hockey season is in full swing, and oh yeah, I coached 40 baseball games this summer between the two of them!
Have only made it to one SJU game in the last two years, but try to follow as much as possible!  Go Cats....someone needs to bump the Mounties and Warhawks off this perch they are on!  Thanks for the note!

I had to cancel the reservations for this weekend and swallow the hit that resulted (sorry, Max, we won't be able to run the pool heater for the rest of the year).  But the season is over, and the new season begins.  Good luck to all the teams still in the race; at the very least (i.e., Tommies) I wish you no injuries.

It was a great year for us and we look forward to next year.  The King is dead but is still the King.  Long live the King!

P.S.  Have fun at the Tommie game, Max.  Wear your purple proudly.  I long for winter (coming soon) when the front runners fade away.

Not to beat a dead horse, okay I'm beating a dead horse. Couldn't sleep last night and went back to check out if there were any good wishes for the Johnnies in last years playoffs.  There were two, both from Cobber fans (Cobb30hog & CobberFvr) and one other from planet Zoltar (White Silly).  Thanks for your support ust(D) you now get the same from me.
Everyday is payday in paradise.
