I  would have to believe that there are any number of (Tommies Suck) Johnnie posters (Tommies Suck) who have no problem (Tommies Suck) admitting that Caruso (Tommies Suck) would have been a deserving (Tommies Suck) recipient of the Coach of the Year Award (Tommies Suck) in the MIAC.

silent...give it up. Enjoy the game and weather, if possible. The holes you are digging can cave in on you.

In the 2007 season at LINFIELD homecoming game I saw sophomore back-up quarterback Aaron Boehme catch a pass from starting quarterback Trevor Sharer that turned out to be a TD: Two quarterbacks in the game at the same time.

MUC also had Matt Campbell who was on Pitt's roster for one year and Chris Kern who played for one of the DII Dakota teams, but other than that, most have been home grown kids.

Chris Kern played for DII Saint Cloud State University in MN.  Coincidentally, he transferred to MUC the same year his SCSU teammate, Nick Bruns, transferred to SJU.  So, both transferred and played in the Stagg the same year.  Another of their teammates at SCSU, Jeff Hazuga, transferred to UW-Stout (SJU's first-round opponent) in 2000, as well.

A tradition unrivaled...

Just last weekend I watched SJU's Joe Boyle throw a pass that was deflected back at him.  Does that count as a pass completion to himself?  SJU doesn't need 2 QBs on the field at once  ;)

From the drive chart:
QuoteH 2-1  V37   Joe Boyle pass complete to Joe Boyle for 3 yards to the COE34, 1ST DOWN SJU (Frank Weymiller).

I guess my question then is, do you know if the grants and scholarships of all sports combined are compared to the rest of the student body, or is it the grants and scholarships of each individual sport compared to the rest of the student body?

I played (not really played, more scout team punching bag) at MUC for two years.  Graduated from MUC two years later.  I received a financial aid package when I started, and it was not reduced when I stopped playing football.

It should... Brad Johnson did that a few years ago for the vikes, only he scored a touchdown too.  A fantasy football player's dream right there.

Personally I would have chosen Flannery over Waldvogel...Flannery got 100 vs SJU D and Fritz did not exactly stuff the stat line and take out the stats vs MAC and Augy and NWestern and things get a little tamer...

I also thought Stanton should have been on the 1st team...

Wow... I guess I don't know who should've gotten the MVP, but that line is pretty tame in conference.  I guess he was a gamebreaker and coaches gave it to him for that.  If Bethel has one more win, Flannery probably gets the nod.

I would like to point out that Cornish got 2nd team.  I rest my case.

I noticed that as well, and since my primary criteria was what the coaches thought, I concede the point.

Dakota/Minnesota, almost the same thing.  :)   Just Kidding!

Maybe Ohio/Pennsylvania.  Please don't compare Ohioians to West Virginians!  LOL

I knew you would.  I've gathered that while you disagree with much of what I say, your arguments were sound and not meant to be inflammatory/annoying/can't think of the word I want right now.

Tmerton, might not be a bad idea to add turkey testicles to the menu for the Stiftungsfestivities next year. Another culinary delight could be barbecued raccoon. I had the privilege of eating the latter a few years ago. It was promoted as "road kill."

I agree with 11 players for each team plus punter and kicker.  This has been hashed out in the past.  I think they've named fewer players than in the past which is a step in the right direction, but 4 all-MIAC QBs?

They have had at least 4 all-MIAC QBs since at least 2003.  I did find one year that they went with 11 All-Conference players:

http://miac-online.org/documents/2008/8/6/1932FBallconf.jpg

No coach of the year is named so I'm going to assume it was Gagliardi.

HAHAHA. I get it.

They are not supposed to be restricted by the positions of the athletes they think deserve the award.  If it's 6 RBs, then they have the ability to give it to 6 RBs.  I see why they would do this, not leaving out very deserving athletes, but I too would like to see 11 players get 1st team, and 11 players get 2nd team.

This year 3 safeties got 1st team, 3 got second team, 1 DB got first team and 1 second team, and 1 CB got first team and 1 second team (Cornish).  If those DBs are safeties, that's 8 safeties and 2 CBs.

If you think that's bad, check out the WIAC list. Four first team DBs, Four second team DBs and Seven Honorable mention DBs. How do you think the other seventeen DBs in the conference feel?

Since there are 4 DB (Defensive Backs) on the field on a given play and up to 6 for certain situations, this seems to be close to or inline with the 11 players per side many posters are wanting to see.

I don't think there's a problem with large honorable mention teams. We don't choose to do it that way with ours, but it's at least reasonable.

For Honorable Mention lists, nothing will ever top AP all-state football and basketball in Minnesota. Average 10 points and five boards and you've got a chance.

Frank's got three stories on the end of the year for the Johnnies.

http://www.sctimes.com/sports

The AP has taken steps to prevent this from happening in the future, or so we were told 1-2 years ago. The nomination process included (still includes?) any coach, newspaper or radio in the state, which opens up a whole can of worms for the "homers" out there as anyone who is nominated automatically receives honorable mention.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.
