Man, it sucks that there is no Johnnie game to wake up and listen to tomorrow morning.

Redern; how's that front page going?  Anything yet?  There must be a major article in the works.  Or maybe it has been decided that undermining the game isn't worth the cost (unless, of course, it's SJU that gets to pay the price.  That's only reasonable.)

That little "birdy" resides on YouTube for all to see.... Calvin Thomas had his knee down as he recovered the John Reis 4th quarter fumble before rumblin, bumblin, stumblin 70 some odd yards....

Can I get a pair of the rose-colored glasses that allows me to see the knee down at 4:30?  Even if there was replay, there is no way the call would be reversed by looking at a shot that doesn't even show the knee in question.

Ditto

Didn't look like he had control until he was starting to run with the ball.

Having had the chance to review both calls in question from last weekend;

At the 2:45 mark of the video Coe DB #9 is clearly holding #89 prior to the ball ever being thrown.  Pass interference can be called off on a tip pass after the throw, but not holding.

At the 4:30 mark, the two LBers (#33 and #34) that converge on the fumble both have their knees on the ground....last time I checked college rules that would mean the play should have been whistled dead.

I don't agree, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maybe a review of the whole game should be done & replay all the questionable calls, & no-calls.

Good luck to the teams remaining.
If Coe is going with #16 today, UST will win by at least 10. Too bad the starter is out.
In the end, you gotta beat UWW or Mount, time will tell if any team can do that this year, some exit early, some late, same result.

sju - I really hope that your assessment of today's matchup is correct and the game is that close.  Without Boyle, this game is over by the 8 minute mark of the 3rd quarter.  Here are a couple of statistical predictions:

It totally sucks that this game isn't in Collegeville.
UST backup quarterback, Matt Joshi & William Baldwin - separated at birth.
The total of Colin Tobin's 10 shortest runs will eclipse Coe's entire running attack.
UST will give up a grand total of ZERO sacks
UST - 56
Coe - 24

I will grant them 24 because the freshman reserves will play the bulk of the 2nd half on D.

Is this the total number of UST students you expect to attend or the number you expect to attend that aren't wearing Ugg boots?

St. Thomas is going to cry like the St. Pauly girls they are after the Kohawks get done smacking them around Saturday.  You might as well stay home the whole holiday weekend or our defense will give you more lumps than your mother's mashed potatoes.  Our backs are gonna run around you faster than your grandmother's gravy around your plate.  Our receivers will make sweeter catches than your aunt's pumpkin pie.  You are going down like your cousin on a...

You Tommies really are clueless.

PurpleReign

Yep clueless, but we are still playing and yet another game to come - let's play on.

Final
UST 34
Coe 7

My prediction of
UST 56
Coe 24
----  difference of 32 was about spot on - I did think that Coe would put up at least three TD this afternoon.  I had not idea that Greg Morse was going to start and he looked pretty good and did a great job of managing the game.  And how about Ben Wartman, whom had over 200 yards of offense.

Well I may be clueless, but I think UST had a better strategy for beating Coe than SJU did. You see, when you drive the ball all the way down inside the 20; instead of giving it to Coe, for a 90 yard touchdown, just go ahead and put it in the end zone yourself. Your teammates and coaches will be happier and it makes for a more pleasurable football experience.

What was that posters were saying about Johnnies should be supporting the Tommies in the post season because of MIAC allegiances?
