Pretty sure it was an option qb when we won our national championship a few years back.  What did the opposing qb run when the Tommies won their last one?  Just curious

Well I hope for your sake 3-6 Pacific Lutheran didn't have an option QB when they hung 44 points on your Catdome D.

It was 47-7 at halftime and Linfield put in our scout team after that....PLU kept in their starters the whole game.....that's fine, more power to them.

D O.C.

With no history of St. Thomas the LINFIELD people will not be personally involved in trashing what we do not care about and the team will be working simply working on what they do best.
Stop us. Or outscore us.

I have just finished reading d3 staff predictions and comments. Same 'ol can't see over the Rockies pabum.

Well, when the "College" of St. Thomas played in the Cigar Bowl I believe they ran the Wing T. I'm kidding, I really I have no idea. Our option guy is a 2nd teamer anyway and probably won't start on Saturday. So don't plan on seeing too much option.

Call me crazy, but I don't think we've made any predictions and comments for the quarterfinals yet.

I was able to travel last weekend and did not read round two, Pat. Your 3 point spread was reasonable. Wrong, but reasonable. The comments were entertaining because of their, well, wrongness.

Oh -- yes, some of the reader comments were their usual mixture of ignorance and bravado. :)

YAWN....

And I thought the MetroDome was a ugly ass stadium - that Catdome looks like it belongs in Alabama, or perhaps Mississippi - filled with a bunch of rednecks watching monster trucks racing around in mud. :D :D :D :D

Right on, another option QB--Paint a target on him cause he is in for a rough day at the Catdome.  2 7 turnover playoff games in a row for the Cat D.

Bring it--we are ready

Now that's funny.

I thought the 'something from a county fair' comment a couple years back was funny.

Watch out all the St. Paul city boys ! That redneck fan base has a bad habit of letting go some Copenhagen residue when you get close to the sidelines. Do NOT pull the suspenders on their Can't-Bust-'Ems.

I still don't understand why they call it a Dome???   ???

I see a lot of canopies on stadiums in Oregon and Washington. Maybe it's because those lilly a$$ Pacific Northwesterners can't handle a little rain. Oh wait, it rains there all the time. Geez Oregon sucks.

VOJ:  While Waldvogel didn't tear apart SJU, it was clear he was the player SJU worried about the most.  All SJU DBs had their eyes on him, which caused them to allow UST's first TD.

Oh how I wish there was instant replay in D3...

Might be true...but truth was he was a non-factor in that game from a standpoint of making plays...yes he had a lot of attention but overall not much impact.

Hey CooCooBird,

Regarding your ground game, it looks like anytime Coo College faces a quality team, your running game averages about 44, yes a whole 44 yards a game:

Augustana - 66 Yards
Gustavus  - 46 Yards
Central - 10 Yards
St. Johns - 56 Yards

I hope you're not placing your hopes on the running game this Saturday, and forget about a romantic get-away with your girlfriend if you are at the game - the bathrooms are really small at UST.

St. Thomas is going to cry like the St. Pauly girls they are after the Kohawks get done smacking them around Saturday.  You might as well stay home the whole holiday weekend or our defense will give you more lumps than your mother's mashed potatoes.  Our backs are gonna run around you faster than your grandmother's gravy around your plate.  Our receivers will make sweeter catches than your aunt's pumpkin pie.  You are going down like your cousin on a...

...ok now I'm getting carried away.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Whoa. Let's not go overboard now. GAC was 4-6 this year and literally every win came in the final minute. It could have easily been an 0-10 year.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that's hardly the definition of quality, though Coe did POUND my Gusties 27-24 in the opener. But that's the new definition of domination, eh VOJ?

Not totally sure what you are alluding to, but if its the OT win for SJU over USTd then maybe you are right...

They kicked away from Fritz for most of the game.  He only had 2-3 opportunities to make plays and fell short of what us Tommies have expected of him.
