Duffman,
How's the pup doing?

Recovering well.  Thanks for asking.  He'll have quite the scar on his belly, though.

I'm excited to see who crafts the best argument in favor of Joe Boyle.  VOJ is the obvious favorite, but I think Dusty or OzJohnnie could surprise.

My that is an awfully big bait you have there TC...there are actually 3 qb's who could be considered...Alex Tanney had a great game against UST, best of the 3 but his team lost and they were shut out in the second half

Passing              Att-Cmp-Int Yds TD Long Sack
-------------------------------------------------
Alex Tanney            51-35-0   361  2   45    3
Totals....                  51-35-0   361  2   45    3

John Haberman faced UST when the two played early on in the MIAC season, and although the stat line did not indicate a great day, he kept his team in the game into the 4th quarter...where the Tommies scored twice in the final 5:20 for the come from behind win.

Rushing              No Gain Loss  Net TD Lg  Avg
-------------------------------------------------
John Haberman         9   32   15   17  1 11  1.9

Passing              Att-Cmp-Int Yds TD Long Sack
-------------------------------------------------
John Haberman          32-19-0   157  0   26    2
Kevin Foss              1-0-0      0  0    0    0
Totals...              33-19-0   157  0   26    2

Joe Boyle is the only QB who can say his team beat UST so far...but his stat line was not pretty...

Rushing              No Gain Loss  Net TD Lg  Avg
-------------------------------------------------
Joe Boyle             3   11   10    1  0  7  0.3

Passing              Cmp-Att-Int Yds TD Long Sack
-------------------------------------------------
Joe Boyle              9-21-0     78  1   20    1
Totals...              9-21-0     78  1   20    1

We don't know the exact split in play calling but after talking to Jimmy G, he had no real complaints, also remember Boyle was nursing a thumb injury which limited the passing game tremendously.

Marcus Brumm could be considered because he was chosen as the second All MIAC first team quarterback but his 219 yards and 5 INT's against UST speak volumes.

So Tanney had the best stats but was shut out in the second half, Haberman had his team in position to get a win but it did not happen and Boyle who did not have a great stat day, led his team to a win...and as we all know the WIN is the thing right?  As a wise former NFL coach says it's why you play the game.

So TC how was that??  Either way I am sure I will get dinged

It's called gastric torsion.  Basically, his stomach flipped over inside his chest cavity.

Speaking of Purple Rain, aka Prince, he was at the Vikings-Bears game yesterday at the Mall of America Dome. They zeroed in on him with the live cam during the game. Maybe we should try and get him up to the Stiftungsfestivities next fall. ::)

Stick with the cheerleaders and make that an ongoing tradition! :o

Duff, caused by eating too fast?

That's one of the theories.  No one really knows for sure.  It happens mainly to deep-chested breeds, Great Danes being #1 by far.

That type of thing can happen in cattle as well, but they have a completely different digestive system (they eat grass)

I hope your pup is up and feeling better soon. I'm sure you have had several sleepless nights caring for him.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Happened to a friends Boxer mix, only it was the stomach and intestine.  The vet wasn't able to save Max and he had to be put down.  Glad your pack mule, I mean dog is doing better.  Hopefully he will be up and eating you into the poorhouse again soon.

And very thorough I might add!

At this point experience is everything and Joe B. Quarterback will be the "manzinie" for his senior season.

Leave no doubt.

Good luck to the pooch. I worry about it with our pointer and I had a friend who lost a basset to that.
