D.O.C- +K about the deer story.
That reminds me of a local radio station KQRS who got a copy of a 911 call where a guy hit a deer with his car,but didn't kill the deer-only knocked out the deer. The dude put the deer in his backseat and then the deer regained consciousness and began biting the guy in the neck and kicking the sh*t out of his car. The driver called from a telephone booth and it was a classic 911 call, that I began to chuckle about when I read your story.

Sounds an awful lot like Tommy Boy  :D

Duff
The 911 caller was more "urban" than Tommy Callahan.  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

BTW: You guys missed TDT's post of the year last night on the NWC board.  It was pure gold and Pat removed it within 30-45 minutes.

Thanks for the reminder. That should have carried a suspension with it, but I was busy and didn't have time to go through the ban screens. Will take care of that now.

Aw, geez, Pat, now we're gonna have all sorts of batsh!t when he comes back.  I mean, hell, he's said stuff about Mrs. tmerton but I figured if I cold-cocked him he'd just whine.  Ultimately, he's about has harmful as a woman's purse - er European shoulder bag.

Don't worry, Clark, I can talk about your old lady if/when you start going through withdrawals.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

For those who care to, please opine on the best quarterback St. Thomas has faced this year. Why?
For extra credit...

I'm excited to see who crafts the best argument in favor of Joe Boyle.  VOJ is the obvious favorite, but I think Dusty or OzJohnnie could surprise.

Hahahahaha +1K TC.  Spot on per is usual.  VOJ is showing he is completely delusional with the ridiculous fanaticism without a shred of objectivity (God forbid a team might be better than the Johnnies a particular year or sport).  VOJ the Tommies are embarrassing you with this playoff run!!!   Looking forward to seeing you at a hoops game this winter.  Be sure to clear your calendar postgame so that we can go out for a few brews.

Veek:  I know you've been waiting for TDT's lately culinary endeavors.  I aim to please.  Last Weds, TC and I took in the Wild game with a pregame stop at Shamrocks on W. 7th Street.  Just beers for TDT pregame and cola for TC as he is on a self-prescribed "alcohol fast" until the 1st of the year (which sources tell me didn't stop him from getting pulled over on 394 on the way home).  Upon returning via the Green Bus there was a band rocking and rolling at Shamrocks.  TDT had the Triple B Bacon Bourbon Burger.  Pretty stupendous if I might say so myself.  Cinnamon sugar bacon, smokey cheddar cheese, and a bourbon sauce along with the always stellar fresh cut fries.  Against better judgement TC went with some boneless wings that apparently were lukewarm and lacking sheer goodness.  I told him you eat burgers and fries there, but the little whippersnapper listens to no one.

Saturday morning a meeting convened at the St. Clair Broiler (corner of Snelling and St. Clair Ave in St. Paul for when you are in the neighborhood) where TDT was joined by OAS and your pal LBean.  OAS went with a couple of cold beers and the Western omelet.  I went with the cinnamon sugar encrusted french toast which was off the hook!!!

USTTDT...how am I getting embarrased?  I went on record saying they got a better draw in Monmouth and that they would have problems IF Coe's starting quarterback played, he didn't and they didn't...

As I remember SJU beat UST at Clemens in their one and only meeting...I could be wrong, might have to check Johnnies Football.com on that

Yes UST is having a nice run, it might continue for another round maybe two...would they have beaten SJU had they met in the second round?  Maybe...who knows its a question that we will NEVER know the answer to.

So enjoy your new team and their run...I hope you, your mom's coat and your Barney suit or Telitubby gear have a nice trip to Linfield if you decide to go to the game and finally and as for beers after a Johnnies bball game...thanks but no thanks and you know why.

Pat are you serious about a suspension?  Talk about addition by subtraction...

Now if we could just figure out a way to suspend him from Collegeville...you know...maybe if I ask a few of my "friends" we might be able to get him banned from campus too.

Does St. Thomas have any trick plays?

...if so...what are they?

Their trick plays all involve #4- the MVP of the MIAC

1.) They do this play where he receives a kick-off and runs it back for a TD
2.)They do a play where he receives a punt and runs it back for a TD- BTW he has run back 6 punts/kicks for TD this season
3.)They do a play where they give #4 the ball on a reverse & he runs it in for a TD
I hope that helps to answer your question about trick plays

And yes, deer are stronger than cattle.

Are they playing Macalester, Northwestern or Augsburg on Saturday?  Because those types of plays only seem to work against those teams...shucks I thought they were matching up with NWC Champ Linfield...I guess we can punch their ticket to Whitewater then.

VOJ,
I'm sure the Linfield coaching staff will have a game plan for #4 as well as #8,#22,#17,#1 the Wildcats will do just fine ;)

Pat Coleman

He did return a kickoff for 71 yards against Monmouth and one for 59 against St. John's, so it's not like he is completely pedestrian against good teams.

Of course our kicker has been kicking everything through the endzone so I'm sure he'll never get a chance at a return this week....   ;)

TDT gone?  For anti-social behavior?  But now who will WW, WaSK, AO, and all the Tommies use to bludgeon loyal Johnnies with charges of being unhinged and incapable of rational thought?

What kind of fake "st. john's wasn't as good as their record indicates" world are you living in?  waldvogel hasn't been a factor in any major game, blake elliott ran twice as fast, St. Thomas just got lucky in beating Coe, with the Coe QB throwing for 161 yards against the Johnnies he would have been the deciding factor (the other 21 guys are meaningless) and would have likely scored 5 touchdowns by himself, and his presence on the sidelines would force the Tommies to give away 2 defensive touchdowns..  Even if they beat linfield, the johnnies are still better than the tommies..............well, maybe not.

Thanks for that, undeserved but thanks...

It took me half the paragraph to figure out that was sarcasm, AO. Guess I need to get some caffeine!

True Pat he did...but as I remember no points on that drive despite the solid return...

AO...I am just left shaking my head on that post...I never said the Tommies got lucky beating Coe, go back to a board where you have some creditability...wherever that is.

tmerton

VOJ, I have to say I think #4 is awfully good and he made me nervous most of that game in Collegeville.  The best way to play him seems to be to jam him at the LOS so he can't get out into his pattern or at least throw off their timing; that way they can't get the ball to him (obviously harder to do with punts and KOs).  But I tip my hat to the kid; he's a player.

Pat Coleman

It was also really difficult to get him the ball in Collegeville because Morse was simply off target on just about every throw, even when he wasn't facing pressure.
