Gulp..., is any Twin Cities radio station carrying this game Saturday?

Doubtful...too expensive to try to pick up at this time...there was talk initiated by WLOL after they listened to the MSBN internet broadcast but the Tommies did not want to pay for it...

I was also asked if the Johnnies radio crew might be available for such a broadcast...needless to say that probably would not have been an option, plus Johnnies Basketball is keeping me busy enough these days.

VOJ - you should have agreed to do the broadcast.  Then you could have added usTDT to the booth for all of his inside knowledge.  The booth may have been cramped, however, given the fact that usTDT would be wearing his purple Teletubbie costume compliments of TMerton. :)

Go Johnnies!!!

This happens so often, we went further in the playoffs, we won the division, and so on.  SJU should be happy with the fact that they beat UST (again) and get over the fact that they played like crap against Coe.

But what is interesting is what this will do for UST's program.  I think one more win in the playoffs will look very good on Caruso's resume.  I don't think UST is his final pitstop, and getting far in the playoffs so quickly could get him a job offer sooner than one thought.

I'd say Joel Maturi is watching closely....

I'd say, there is no way Maturi is watching, in any way whatsoever. He's not going to hire a DIII coach to take over for the U.

Even if UST won back to back Stagg Bowls (which I don't think there is much of any chance of), they wouldn't hire him. Seriously, a DIII coach to a BCS conference school?!? I realize the Gophers suck, but they've got more pride than that. I should say, I don't think DIII coaches aren't at the same level. There are plenty who I think know the game and x's and o's well enough to coach at the FBS level. But the issue is perception from the FBS people.

Not to mention, recruiting successfully at UST is a far cry from recruiting successfully at the U, where you're going up against the likes of OSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Iowa and lets not forget SDSU  ;D

I hope your post was tongue in cheek. Please say it was...

Half in half out..... He's a young guy who not only can talk a good line but appears to have the ability to coach also.  I'm not sure Brewster can do either.

Really, how difficult is it to recruit at Texas where he supposedly made his mark?  They're the big burrito in the southwest, they're the USC of Texas.

Young guy, lots of energy, knows how to coach, confident.... there have been Division I and professional coaches hired with not much more on their resume.

The U has pretty much gone the full spectrum of coaches since the 60's, why not this one?  I think he'd be good.

Developing....

There are assistant coaches out there from big name programs (where did Bob Stoops come from) as well as former head coaches( there are a couple of Bowden brothers not coaching currently) who could turn the Gopher program around and make them competitive. It's Maturi's job to find the right guy,Brewster ain't the right guy.

The U is missing out on a TON of money by not getting into a "name"/BCS bowl game year after year. This funds non-revenue programs as well as helps to keep recruits coming in.

The Twin Cities are a fickle market- 4 professional teams, so the U is somewhat "second fiddle"- but if you put a winning program on the field, they will pack "The Bank"- if you put out a crap program, that beautiful new stadium will be empty, and that is sad.

They can't use the "no stadium to recruit to" BS line any longer.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I would have strangled him with his headset cord by the end of the 1st half...no way Bryan could have pulled me off him...1330 found a gentleman to do the game from the McMinnville area...

+k to the Johnnies and a few others.  I've been lax lately.

Here's a copy of the post that I just made on the NWC board.  I wish I could be there, too.

It's Official!!!!

TDT has his tickets in hand and will be in Oregon tomorrow morning.  Word has it that he is looking forward to having burgers and beers at the Deluxe at 6 p.m. with his friends WC11, GHC, and Bluenote.

He's also trying to get in touch with Pat to see if he wants him to provide any reports back to d3football.com on Saturday.  The only problem is that he can't send Pat a PM through the site as he has been locked out from doing so.

I would respectfully request that his ban be lifted so that we may be enlightened by his commentary.

To the Linfield faithful that will meet TDT - Please make sure that you make him feel welcome by talking about his mother's coat that he likes to wear as well as his murse (man's purse) that he is planning to purchase soon.  Pink is his favority color, although recently it has been purple.

Good luck to both teams on Saturday.  It should be one hell of a game.
Go Johnnies!!!

Some of the tommy posters needed info on where we meet on Friday for our insider info meeting.  It is the Deluxe.  It is about 11 miles north of town on hwy 99 on the left.  You can't miss it it has a flashing sign that says Go Cats.  There are usually alot of harleys out front but don't let that stop you,  as soon as the guys see that you are Tommy backers they will give you their special Catdome welcome.

As for the younger crowd I suggest a strip club just off campus called Alfs--it is famous.  the girls there do cage dances and they all wear matching white outfies that will blow your mind.

Safe travels and
Welcome to the Catdome

GHC  out

Half (fully) makes me wish I wasn't studying for law school finals and was embarking on the Oregon Trail to watch the Tomcats run all over the mildcats (lame, I know, outlining for 7 hours straight will do that to you...)  Although, I have to say, the name "Alf's" is a little unfortunate, as instead of conjuring up images of Friday's sweater girls scantily, nay, unclad, all I can think about is the provocative gyrations of a fury, cat starved, alien.

Been up in North Dakota the last few days — watched the Vikes on the couch of former UND great Erik Fabian — and missed all the fireworks. What did TDT do to get banned again? Any details would be appreciated...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I thought TDT didn't believe in sending PMs through this site? :)

I can only lift the ban. I can't guarantee his commentary will be enlightening.

The ban was set for a specific period of time. Not a long one. I'm not going to change it.

Yea, Pat might read his thoughts  (how ironic) :D

I now received word that TDT ran into a $150 extra charge (on top of 35000 miles) for reserving his ticket within 21 days of departure.  He is not willing to pay this extra BS fee so I am now on a fundraising campaign to make this happen.  I reluctantly agreed to chip in $25 so we only need to raise $125.  I posted the fundraiser notice on the NWC board, too.  Any takers out there?

Pat, VOJ, and Duffman - how much can I put you each down for?  ;D
