Every Friday, Wildcat11's site/blog runs a link dump of articles of the past week with regards to the previous game/upcoming game.  Lots of Linfield and UST stuff to check out.

ADvantage Catdome = AROUND THE CATDOMEO'SPHERE

The catdome is an extremely difficult place to win.  Their fans will be all over the place, in the stands, on the fence and with UST fans.  They will yell, cheer and yell more at fans and players.  It was quite an experience.  The only way UST can win is if they score early and often.  You take the crowd out of the game then you might have a chance.  Linfield doesn't usually give up many 2nd half points, they make great halftime adjustments.

Not that it matters and it doesn't necessarily mean they don't make great halftime adjustments but so far on the season Linfield had given up 124 points in the first half and 132 points in the second half.

that might be deceiving...Whitewater gives up its points all in the second half as well. however their 2nd and 3rd strings are usually the ones giving up the points when the game is already in hand.... that might be the case for Linfield as well.

Like I said, "not that it matters."  I understand some of those points were surrendered by their substitutes and that they've been very tough in the second half of playoff games.  But that isn't what he said.

By way of comparison the St Thomas defense has given up 98 first half points and 75 second half points including one overtime this season and they have yet to give up any points in the second half of their two playoff games.

Again, not that it matters.  The only thing that will matter is what the two defenses do Saturday.

Are you talking about at the game or at the Deluxe Bar and Cat House?  ;D

Probably not if UST is trying to throw with Morse.

Hence, IF St. Thomas can pound the rock, they will win.  aka, limit throws. On the otherhand, Coe's vaunted D was only able to pick him a grand total of zero times.

Coe had a vaunted D?

Well, they did cause... 6? I believe? Johnnie turnovers... Anyone who can do that to the Johnnies must be vaunted.   ;)

I think St. John's fans assuming Greg Morse will play the same as he did in Collegeville are underthinking things.

Underthinking?  Uh, gee, that kinda leaves me speechless.  I must be underthinking.

Pat Coleman

Assuming and underthinking tend to go hand in hand.

Because people that think up complicated scenarios and sophisticated ideas never make assumptions.  Or more narrowly, incorrect assumptions.

Pat Coleman

No, but I certainly try not to make biased assumptions based on one game from six weeks ago without at least considering the possibility that things might have changed.

Ask him now....
Pat has seen both Greg Morse and Aaron Boehme play.
Ask him.
A discuss and compare will suffice.

I'm going to go with:  Linfield - 104 (they miss an extra point)
                             St. Thomas - 3

I'm not sure what assumptions you're assuming were made, Pat, but are you telling us that Greg, or whoever plays QB for the Tommies, isn't going to have any turnovers against Linfield?

We don't all get to make our living watching these teams play, but we still don't have to "underthink" or make assumptions to suggest that someone besides a running back can figure into a turnover.

Love your condescension.

Just for that I hope the Tommies get stampededed tomorrow... that's kinda like under-thinking.... maybe underestimating is the word he was looking for.

Yeah, Dust, it wasn't until that comment that you felt the urge to cheer against the Tommies.  Same with me.  :D
