Tough shoes to fill after Wooderson and Duffman left.

The desk hasn't been the same since.  ;)

And that wraps up the MIAC season.  Congrats to the UST players.

Seeing as the MIAC season is over, it's time for next season predictions.  What? Too soon?

1.  UST
2.  Carleton
3.  Bethel
4.  SJU
5.  STO
6.  Auggie Tech
7.  CCM
8.  GAC
9.  Hamline

Yes, I'm serious.

This will be the year that Concordia may be close to the cellar of the conference.  However, they will most likely finish in the top 3 next season.  I think everyone will have high expectations for dunham the qb since he will be the starter for the next 2 years.  Young receivers will need to step up.  There is never a shortage of lineman around.  The defense will need to step up and losing some good d-lineman will hurt.

Also, it's funny how SJU may lose some great players on offense or defense.  However, I am sure some of there 2nd string players could be starters on other MIAC teams.

I would be surprised is UST finishes first in the conference next season.  I heard fritz is transferring to the U of M to replace Decker and Caruso might be interviewing for the Notre Dame job.  Call me crazy?  Then look no further than Meidt going to the redskins!

Something to chew on here ... Gags has once again been named a finalist for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award.

Other D-III finalists are Steve Briggs, Susquehanna University; Greg Debeljak, Case Western Reserve University; Steve Staker, Coe College; and John Troxell, Franklin & Marshall College.

Fins, be sure you invite the Canadian boys to the EelPout Festival in February on Leech Lake. They can snuggle up with the Bikini Ice Fishing Team. ;)

Thinking about going, but without Flash and his trunk full of beer, not so sure. :)

Too far for me.

Ditto.
Only about 1200 miles for me but I'll pass anyway.  ;)

Airfare from here to Milwaukee - $889

to Madison - $1336

I'm about 70% that I'll go. If the weather is as now predicted, around 30, and little wind, I'm sure I'll be there. The wind will be the difference, both in making my decision, and for game conditions. Around 30 and sunny can feel downright comfortable if you're dressed appropriately.

All this talk about who is going to win the MIAC in 2010 is a little ridiculous.  What really concerns me is the first game of the non-conference schedule.  I have a couple of SJU football players in the course I teach at CSB/SJU and rumor has it that Northwestern College will be the first game of the year on September 4th.  It is not on the SJU website yet, but you can bet the SJU coaching staff as we speak are watching film of that close contest back in 2005 when the Johnnies won in a squeaker 57-7.  SJU will have to play a mistake-free game to have a chance if this match-up turns out to be true.

Damn, if that proves true we will have to listen to AO ranting and raving for the next ten months.

NOOOoooooo...  Please say it isn't true.  I won't be able to withstand the Tommie insults hurled our way on the creampuff schedule.
