If anyone missed the 1-AA championship game they missed a very impressive performance by a guy named Szczur.  Also, a very impressive individual.

Great game indeed.  I kinda wanted both teams to win.

I went to an Augustinian high school and each year they would put up a large poster, "Do you want to go to Villanova?"  My senior year some wag in my class wrote at the bottom, "Hell, no, I want to go to college."  It's since become a very good school though.  Anyway, good on them for winning.

STAGG BOWL MOVED BACK TO 3:00PM CST & IS NOW ON ESPN CLASSICS DUE TO WEATHER

Of course Comcast does not carry ESPN Classic.

I have ESPNC on Comcast out here.  It's part of an extra sports package ($5/mo) that also has some of the regional fox sports channels, ESPN News and some other stuff.

But now it's going to overlap with the state high school "championships" out here.  I put #13 on the plane this morning to LA to see his old high school play in the championships (it's really a BCS type bowl arrangement but they call it a championship).  They're matched up against a team from Gardena that has several receivers going to D-1 programs - 1 of whom is going to USC and another has his choice of FL, AL and the Pac-10 schools.  Although anything's possible (or so they say), I don't think it's going to be a pretty game. :-[ :P

It's a good thing that Salem is such an ideal location for the Stagg Bowl. :-X  Have to wonder how many people who intended to be at the game are sitting in airports around the country.

Or worse yet, having a connecting flight cancel and having no choice but to go back on the next flight to your city of origin   >:(
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Under the circumstances - that might be better than actually getting to Salem. 8)

For sure.

One of the best deals around is the Sports Package on DirecTV. I don't know what the cable companies have that is similar, but you can watch a lot of sports from around the country. tmert - I have enjoyed watching a number of So Cal high school games on the Prime Ticket channel out there. The last was a game in a downpour where Servite played for that division crown. I see the game with Marin Catholic vs Serra is on in a couple minutes. Hope #13's old school wins.

Merry Christmas Clark!!  Why aren't you down there taking pics??  Robert Woods is nasty.  Yahtzee!  He might be in the same stratosphere as Blake Elliott.

Don't worry, I don't get it on DirecTV, either.  What a crock.

Anyone else shut out by the switch to ESPN Classic?

I was too lazy to battle hwy 62 past Southdale to pick up the converter unit I'd need to watch the game for one hour before having to drive daughter #2 to Shakopee for a girls hockey match.

Just here listening to the golden tones of Keith and Pat....

Has it stopped snowing yet?

In case anyone wasn't able to watch the game it was a tremendous game by both teams that did an excellent job of showcasing the talent that exists at the D3 level.  It's just too bad that it was hidden on ESPN Classic (though that was fitting) and didn't get the audience it might have on ESPN.

Listened to an interview with Pierre Garcon during the Stagg, and if I heard him correctly he said he intended to come back to Mt. Union to graduate this spring.  Hunh?  Did he leave before his senior year?  He's been in the NFL two years and still hasn't graduated?  I thought we were talking D3 here.  Sounds like USC (where they're careful to talk about the players who attended  ;)...)

The Stagg was a good game from what I saw, though I was mostly watching the high school games out here.  #13's alma mater represented, holding the lead over the #5 team in the state before falling by 4 at the end (they lost their quarterback in the 1st half and had to go with a soph the rest of the way, so they played especially given that handicap).  Hope you got to see it, TDT.

Mr. Ypsi

tmert, maybe one of the Mount guys would know for sure, but with the combines, etc., I believe he might be just a couple of credits short of his degree (he didn't leave prior to running out of eligibility).  Since LK (and the Raider faithful) take great pride that the graduation rate is higher than the winning %(!), I'd imagine he was under a bit of pressure to get it taken care of. ;)
