Duff, have you had any of the beers from Lift Bridge Brewery in Stillwater? I tried the Farm Girl Saison and was not particularly fond of it. Was wondering about their Cross Cut Pale Ale?

Sumander, I was in a little shop over lunch and found a few of the Lift Bridge beers.  I will post my opinions soon... ;D

I'm not sure Sum is reading the board right now; I think he's preoccupied with the Joe McKnight situation. ;D

Good luck to Bobby Hauck.  Don't think I'll ever cheer for UNLV though.

Duff, looking forward to your notes. Your Surly Furious recommendation was outstanding! Every time my daughter makes the trek home from the Cities she freshens my supply!

I am fermenting a knock off of the Bell's Two-Hearted Ale. Can't wait to start drinking that.

Tmert, Alway lurking, but yes, the McKnight situation certainly has my attention!

In case I forget how about a little Christmas Karma for all my friends!

Sum,

I'm polishing off a Cross Cut Ale right now.  It's pretty good--not great.  It reminds me of Surly Furious in that it's got that citrus bite, but it's not as heavy or thick.  Definitely not bad, but not a favorite of mine.  I've got a bottle of the Farm Girl Saison that I will try later.

No Gliadon( 49 and 52 yard field goal with a bad knee and countless punting yardage) and no Wimmer( more tackles and starts over 4 years than concievable) on the D3 All-American team is a bit suspicious.

Looking forward to beating the Tommies again in 2010.

Definitely a conspiracy going on here especially since Gliadon had a bad knee and due to the D3 bias against St. Johns. My understanding was the severity of an injury always factors into the merits of an All-American. Some day you guys will be understood and treated fairly. Until then keep your heads up and don't let this ridiculous tyranny get you down.

What are you cooking for the Johnnies on Christmas at your palatial mansion?  Hope you splurged for some "top shelf" liquor so the boys get a little break from Glueks and Busch Light.

Costco's finest and a nice egg bake (what - you think they'll even notice?).

They'll be in the Tahoe casinos on New Year's - God help the Nevadans.

Did you inform them that when playing Roulette, only bet on RED  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Gliadon had two long makes, which was really good, no doubt. It's hard to make All-Region (and basically impossible to make All-American) without at least one 40-yard kick on your resume, and he had two. But he was only 4-for-8 on field goals, with three of the four misses from under 40 yards.

He wasn't nominated as a punter, and I think that's reasonable. His average was lower than the people who made the All-Region team.

Haven't tried any Surly yet, but I've heard good things.  I've been meaning to, especially since the founder is a Carleton alum.  Just a little alma mater shout out.

+k to freebird when I get to a laptop.  Now that was a masterful bit of sarcasm.  You get a Johnny nodding his head and finish with that little "ridiculous tyrrany" and it slides through to the keeper.  Mucho credit.

By the way, freebird, are you still heading down here next month?

And this, my friends, is the end of a very hard day and a two-week long hard slog.  It is officially beer o'clock.  Drink 'em if you got 'em.

Cheers.

I'm going through one of my anti-icefishing phases.  I think tarpon fishing in Puerto Rico ruined me.
