Haven't tried any Surly yet, but I've heard good things.  I've been meaning to, especially since the founder is a Carleton alum.  Just a little alma mater shout out.

Actually, he's a 1992 Macalaster grad.

And his wife (the co-founder) is a 1994 Carleton grad.

Hmmm, after going to the website they may have over-played her role in Carleton's article.

I tried the Farm Girl Saison and was not particularly fond of it.

I just cracked the Farm Girl Saison and agree 100%.  Not good at all.  The Cross Cut is way more my cup of tea.

Edit:  I'm struggling to put this thing down.  It's got the aroma of stale, cheap, keg beer.

A tradition unrivaled...

Okay, I will give you that, but I have taken the tour with Omar and spoken with him personally.  I was unaware that his wife was a Carl, and while she's technically a "co-founder", I don't think she does much with the brewery.

A Mac grad and a Carl grad marrying?  Isn't that almost as bad as a Carl and an Ole marrying?

A tradition unrivaled...

TC or Duff-

Any fishing reports?-

I'm going through one of my anti-icefishing phases.  I think tarpon fishing in Puerto Rico ruined me.

I went Bonefishing a couple years back off the coast of Florida. We didn't catch anything, but it was kind of relaxing & I didn't really care if I caught anything or not
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

By the way, freebird, are you still heading down here next month?

Yep! I arrive into Melbourne from Beijing on the 14th and head back out on February 1st.  I will email a better idea of my schedule next week.  Also I should be able to get a couple Laver or Hisense passes during the first week.  Does the day or night session work better with your schedule?

Had the Surly "Fury"(I think, it was something close to that, maybe Furious...) and enjoyed it.  Could only drink one of those however.... my brother in-law refered to the flavor(in beer circles) as "full-garden", I think...

Not bad.

The Surly Fury is a bit heavier than a Summit Pale Ale.  'Been drinking the Summit Pilsner lately and really enjoy it.
