how about this scenerio from 10-1 with a shot at homefield advantage in the NFC playoffs to playing on the opening weekend against a team that has not dropped 4 or 3 of their last 5...a finish definitely deserving of a contract extension...

The kick coverage team simply sucked.

Limping into the play-offs is not exactly how Vikings fans envisioned this season......

Well when your Coach is NUMBER 4...what should you expect?...remember other than an appearance in two Super Bowls early in Favre's career and a total choke job in the NFC title game two years ago, when was Green Bay ever really a threat to take it all?

Back up the logic truck Viking fans...your O line is struggling...your pass defense was shredded for 4 TD's by the NFL's interception leader, J Allen was MIA last night and Captain Queeg is attempting to run the ship aground from the sidelines...

The G-men come calling this weekend with nothing to play for...it will be interesting to see which Big Blue team shows up... the one that kicked the crap out of Washington or the deer-in-headlights edition that got run over by the Stewart freight train from Carolina?

bennie - What's the skinny on Chimera, other than his cheap crap with Ovechkin earlier this season? I wonder if they'll get along. The BJ's get a good character guy, a mucker, and someone who has some offensive skills and grit in Clark. Urcina is a good tough defenseman, who I always thought never reached his potential, but is still young. I'm not sure who got the better end of the deal.
ChooChoo has speed with a grinder's work ethic. He brings the ability to score and the willingness to go into the corners and do the dirty work. I have alway had the impression that he was well-liked in the locker room. I will miss him.

I am familiar with Clark from his days as a Flame. I have a soft-spot for American born/College educated players (except Ryan Kesler because he is a whiny b*tch). 8)
High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing... everything else is just figure skating.  ~Author Unknown

Clark is an easy guy to like, his being from Conn is icing on the cake. I forgot to mention that Jurcina has a cannon of a slap shot, which Boudreau kept urging him to use more. He was improving on that, but still needs to unleash it more.

U of Minnesota athletic director Joel Maturi says he will offer a contract extension to Gopher's coach Tim Brewster.  Brewster is currently in the third year of a five year contract which pays him $1million a year.  Minnesota is 14-23 overall and 6-18 in the Big Ten under him.

I thought some of you would be excited by this news.  ;)

Bell's Two-Hearted is good stuff!  I actually had some over Christmas!

I will have to send my liquor purveyor on a mission to find the Cross Cut.

I had the first tasting last night of the Northern Brewer's Two Hearted knock off I recently brewed! It is going to be excellent. just a little bit more carbonation to the keg and we should be ready to go.
Had a woman at work recommend Two-Hearted to me last week and saw the recs here so today at the work Christmas lunch I had a pint on tap and then another. Excellent stuff.

Repete, I want your job if you can have two pints of Two Hearted at lunch.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

I am sure Brewster will have a 10 win season in the near future like Bielema over at Wisco...it all starts next year with the matchup with USC...I am sure they will win that game and that will propel him into legendary status...or maybe not ;D

Still no word from ustDT?  He probably got into a punch-up with some Bears fans.  You know he was woofin' at the game, esp. during the second half, which wouldn't have gone down well with Da Bears followers.  Some of them probably stuffed him in their trunk and now are still trying to figure out what to do with him. 8)

Funny you should mention Geraldo - he carries a purse, too, doesn't he?

All this talk about who is going to win the MIAC in 2010 is a little ridiculous.  What really concerns me is the first game of the non-conference schedule.  I have a couple of SJU football players in the course I teach at CSB/SJU and rumor has it that Northwestern College will be the first game of the year on September 4th.  It is not on the SJU website yet, but you can bet the SJU coaching staff as we speak are watching film of that close contest back in 2005 when the Johnnies won in a squeaker 57-7.  SJU will have to play a mistake-free game to have a chance if this match-up turns out to be true.
