I watched some of the U S Army sponsored High School "All Star" game yesterday from San Antone. They did quite a bit of analysis about what the Carroll situation does to USC. One kid was scheduled to enroll today (He completed his high school requirements and although had not committed, was going to school starting Monday) He backed out of that, and wasn't exactly sure what he would do. Aside from that, there were quite a number who did verbally commit to USC (and Texas, and Florida and Alabama) I did actually see one name scroll by on the bottom who committed to Minnesota. Wonders never cease.

I watched a good part of that game also. My take was either squad would totally blow out any d3 team, and a lot of d1 teams. Imagine with some practice what they could do. Now the question is, how many will be able to handle college classes and stay out of trouble. I'd guess about 1/3.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Question for you tech guys, have a new iphone-is there an application that will allow me to listen to live stream of the games? tried to download realplayer, but safari would not download it.

Boy, NE came out flat today. All you looking forward to seeing the Cowboys next wekend?

That HS WR is Prater from here in Illinois, the #1 WR-looks like he will be going somewhere else and not USC.

What a weekend.  There hasn't been a close game.  I'm sitting here watching the GB game and thinking what a big mistake it was for Childress to send everyone home for a week - their minds will be out of ther game this coming weekend, I fear.

Not so sure about that flash. There is some excellent young raw talent, but maybe a little too raw IMHO. After a couple more years, I would agree with you, but the precision that comes with playing together as a team is hard to overcome for high schoolers.

I just sent you an email but I think this answer my main question.  I'm glad to hear NFL games are easy to view over there.

It is frickin' hot.  Damn hot.  And dry.  Convection oven dry.  Media organisations seem to be hoping for a two-week hot spell like last year's.  With any luck they may get some more crispy people to drive up ratings.

From -10 in Minnesota to 100+ in Melbourne.  Can't we just meet in the middle somewhere? >:(

Cripes.  Mrs Oz just told me it got up to 43.6C today, which is 110.5F.  Dang.  It was pretty toasty but I didn't realize it was that warm.

Brrr...  I'm sure glad I don't live somewhere cold and have to listen to some jerk talk about it being too hot.

I was just over on the WIAC board and learned that A. J. Raebel has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Prognosis positive. Let's show some love over there.

The Johnnies finished 8th in the National Wrestling Dual Championships, Concordia finished 6th and Augsburg won the whole ball of wax.  An extremely good showing by the MIAC.

Tmert, you keeping up on the drama at USC? Think Sarkisian would come back? If they settle for Herm Edwards I think I would officially resign from the Trojan Fan club.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

A few questions:

* Could that announcer have been any more dry?  The passion in his marriage may be a little low.

* What's up with the Cuckoo sound every so often?  I felt like I was being mocked for listening to the guy.

* Where was the guy from Slapshot that skated around the rink in his cup and jock strap to striper music?  But that Oglethorp was a mean bastard, that's for sure.

EDIT:  And I found the start of this Sergei Fedorov fight in the related list interesting as they both pause a second to take off their helmets before the punches start.  If there are going to be some broken fingers out of this deal, they're going to be broken on someone's face rather than a helmet.  Old school.
