Is anyone else glad that the Twins are stepping up to secure Joe Mauer?

How is Trevor Pluff doing in the Twins farm system?  does he have a chance to make the majors?

Well ... maybe ... word is he hasn't signed his LOI yet.  Sum is probably curled up into a ball.

With Nuweasal and Boy Blunder together in LA, I suspect the NCAA is looking to open a field office in Los Angeles to eliminate the need for constant trips of the enforcement staff from Indianapolis.

Tmert, exactly what I heard as well. Henderson is waiting until after the NCAA hearing in 30 days before he signs his letter.

Pretty happy with the way the Boy Wonder not only held Petey's recruiting class together but added to it. I have seen it ranked any where from #1 to #7.

The Pac 10 overall had a way better recruitng year than the Big 10!!
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Duff, with the major milestone post looming, I am sure you must be working on a classic!!!

Given the Pac-10's bowl record this year, they needed to recruit well.  And how're they doing in basketball this year?  How many weeks has it been without a team in the top 25? 8-)

Ha!  Classic.  I just got to a laptop to check your post (rather than using my blackberry).  This one's going in the save file.

Just got back from a week in the Palm Springs area, trying to catch up after staying away from a computer for most of that time. Got in a good share of golf. One night after dinner with friends at Arnold Palmer's restaurant. The great man himself made the rounds. Quite the thrill.

snoop - In answer to your week old question about Winona State. I was born and raised in Winona. I'm not all that familiar with the school these days, but have a friend that worked in the Accounting Department, and may be able to get information. It had been a teachers' college, and is probably much like other state schools. They have a decent football program, are in the Northern Sun Athletic Conference. They won a DII basketball championship a couple years back, and blew another the year before in the last seconds.

One of the local high school football players signed with St Cloud State (if anyone's interested). He's a very good running back named Michael Walker. He also played DB. He made most of the All State rosters, and his team, Walworth Bigfoot, won the Division 3 title in Wisconsin this year. I look for good things from him.

Interesting you mention Arnold Palmer, then snoop in the next sentence.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

That also crossed my mind flash. How astute of you to see the irony.

How are they doing in ranking of conferences that have underclassmen leave for the pros?  ;)

I saw in my morning paper Sunday that the Gophers landed Zac Epping, from Kenosha. He's gotten a bunch of press, and is considered to be one of, if not the best OL/DL in the state. He's a big rig, and could help the rodents in the near future.

Johnnie wrestling did well on the weekend.  It's good to see some depth coming to the MIAC.  It's not just the Auggie Tech show.
