JR, you'll have to entertain the Bikini Ice Fishing Team without me, as I won't be able to make the trip north this year. I really don't want to miss any of the Olympic figure skating events on TV, and I'll be frying fish for the first Eagles Club all-you-can-eat dinner of the lenten season.
Please give my regards to Hon. Earl the Pearl, if you see him.

This is too late for this year, but keep it in mind for next.

Did you post this on the Wisconsin board?  :D

I don't generally post on the No Fun Board.

How about some Street Talk?  This is from a footy related late night show down here in Melbourne.  Street Talk is a segment where one of the show's hosts, Sam Newman, walks the streets of the um... less literary suburbs and interviews selectively.  This link above is to the best of Street Talk from Footscray.  Lovely place, Footscray.

Ah, sides of the Down Under that we would never see without your guide, Oz.  Just saying thank you is too strong a response.  8-)

Finslet, you missed a great EelPout yesterday. I don't know if I have ever seen that many people at the event. I did not see the Hon. Earl the Pearl, though I did ask a Cass County deputy if he knew where he was. No luck there.

The Bikini Ice Fishing Team did a wonderful job performing on the stage. This year they were inside the Chase instead of a tent on Leech Lake.

There was a rugby tournament on the lake during the afternoon. That was interesting to watch given all the snow.

Next celebration to plan for: Pre-St. Patrick's Day celebration Saturday, March 13 in Belle Plaine. They know how to party in this town. ;)

Here's a little hard to believe action.

A big Russian jet, referred to as the "Vodka Burner", is filmed taking off on in Canberra.  This defines the term 'using all the runway.'  Particularly good is the commentary that starts at about 1:30 with a very dry punch line at about 2:10.

Props to the JOHNNIES and the MIAC for leading DIII Football in attendance .......... again ;)

Do you know if they've settled their little bar feud down in Belle Plaine yet?  Do you best to stay out of the crosshairs.

I'll say it once again and I'm sure it will get the ire up of some of the Tommie, Royal, and other Johnnie-haters.
Why would anyone play football anywhere else in the MIAC when they could play in one of the greatest college football environments in the country?

I'll tell ya what's wacky...

WASHINGTON — Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda raised his right hand and promised to tell the truth. Then, speaking in English, he apologized to Congress — and millions of American Toyota owners — for safety lapses that led to deaths and widespread recalls for accelerator and braking failures.

The Toyota CEO's last name is Toyoda.  ???   ;D

SUMMIT!!!!!

Gotta love this clasic line from the St. Ben's basketball website:

"This is the Blazers fifth consecutive MIAC regular season championship, either won or shared."

I gotta admit, I don't see the issue.  Is it "won or shared," meaning won outright or jointly with another team?  If it is that, wouldn't the complaint be that they are claiming more than they should since they weren't outright champs if they didn't say shared?

Anyway...

"Dirty truth about Brits and their sheets"

A UK study has shown half a million Brits only wash their sheets three times a year, mX reported.

Under-25s tended to have the dirtiest sheets, with one in 10 admitting to washing theirs only six times a year...

And people wonder why the British exchange students can't get any action.  It ain't just the teeth, cobber.

Hey BDB,

How about offering your opinion on the Semin/Boyle incidents last night. Moron Mike (Milbury) seemed to think Semin committed the crime of the century with his perfectly legal check on Boyle, then defends Boyle coming back and in a premeditated act, issuing a cheap shot, intent to injure slue foot on Semin. Unless "shoulder checking late in the game when you're down by 4 goals" has become a penalty, I didn't see any reason for giving Semin 2 minutes. I know it's the Olympics, but I would think Boyle might be in line for a few games off. I see they finally announced that Cam Janssen is suspended for 5 games for his late, high, cheap shot to Matt Bradley in the last game before the break.
