Tommies Announce 2010 Recruiting Class
Looks like Coach Caruso has developed a bit of a Florida pipeline.

After reviewing Coach Caruso's freshman class it doesn't appear he puts much stock in outstate MN.

Go Johnnie.

The Tommie student body looks down their noses at guys who wear Carhartts  and drink Hamm's while having a chew in their lower lip. Oh wait.... that could be Johnnies or Cobbers  :-[

Who here thinks the Tommies will improve their MIAC finish & Play-off success from the 2009 season?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Yes, that prediction was made two months ago.

As always, they certainly have the talent.

Very interesting experience this past Sunday when I went to the Soundset Festival at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. It was a rap/hip hop music festival. Plenty of tattoos and body piercings. Go to http://www.soundsetfestival.com/ for some of the performers.

I'm happy to see that the closest Enrico Caruso got to recruiting in Stearns County was Big Lake. No way can you win it all without good Stearns County beef.

Don't yell at me for posting 3 times in a row. I haven't posted much lately, so my PPD average is still lower than Nick Punto's batting average.
I just thought some of you might like to read a clip from a recent email I got from Kilted Rat:

What the heck is a MEU?

I'm stationed with a Marine Infantry Battalion (1st Battalion 4th Marine Regiment) out of Camp Pendleton. We're deployed on a MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit). A MEU consists of a plussed up Marine Infantry Battalion, a Marine Logistics Battalion (Supplies and stuff "in the rear with the gear"), and a Marine Air Squadron (Ours has CH-46's, Huey's, CH-53's, Cobra Assault Helos, and a couple of Harrier jets. Feel free to look up the different birds if you want to see pics.) All on 3 different ships. The biggest ship is the USS Peleliu (LHA 5), USS Dubuque (LPD 8, my ship), and the USS Pearl Harbor (LSD-52).

Our plussed up Marine Battalion includes 1200 infantry Marines, an artillery battery, a tank company, an engineer company, Amphib Assault Vehicle company, a Recon (Spec ops) platoon, and a platoon of Light armored reconnaissance vehicles. All total, we have 1600 Marines spread out amongst the 3 ships.

Our main mission is to be the emergency response force for CENTCOM/AFRICOM for the next 7 months. CENTCOM  consists of India west down through the middle east and the horn of Africa. AFRICOM consists of the rest of Africa specifically the eastern half. Anything requiring a Marine/Naval force in that area, we're it. What will we actually be doing? Probably a lot of training with foreign militaries, some anti-piracy stuff, and a lot of hanging out waiting for any sort of natural disaster, military coup, embassy attack, etc. The list of potential missions are virtually endless which is a large part of the reason I was gone for about half of the time from September through May for training.

Doesn't put stock in it? I'm sure it's far more likely that other schools will beat St. Thomas for those players. I don't think you or I know whether it's for lack of trying or caring.

A few weeks ago I was informed by my employer that my services would no longer be required.  I'm available most days to help out anyone with Twin's tickets that would otherwise go unused.

My daughter who attended that school on Summit Avenue and Cretin graduated on May 22.  The graduation was held at the Metrodome, which I thought would be awful.  It wasn't too bad.  After the ceremony I happened to run into Jeff Hilliard.  Jeff was the Tommy cornerback who was knocked out cold last fall (when the Johnnies of course defeated the Tommies).  I was standing about 20 yards away from him on the sideline.  I asked him if he was having any side effects from the concussion.  He told me no, he was feeling just fine.

Yet again bias and prejudice are unfairly discounted as legitimate arguments.  As if they somehow aren't enough to end the debate.  Facts, if they agree, are just icing on the cake.

Tommies suck!  Now that's an agreeable fact.
