C'mon Dens.  Hike up your skirt and man up.  You've been living in California too long.  That was funny.  The reason Finsleft and I were reminded of this video is that the "originality" has clearly worn off as Target Field has become THE place to propose.  It is downright annoying as it is clearly now being done just for the spectacle.  Find a nice restaurant.   I even heard that a girl proposed to a guy the other day.  Is that kosher?

Hey TDT (aka Barney) - I noticed that you are starting off the preseason in your usual smarta** way.  I'm in the process of confirming my schedule right now but you will be the last to know.  I'm up in the air for the opener as it is Labor Day weekend and we are out at the lake but I may decide to come.  Why don't you post your schedule so I can be sure to attend the games when you won't be there?

I'm looking forward to football again minus the mind numbing ramblings of Barney.

GO JOHNNIES!!!

Speaking of starting the football season...some of you might enjoy this piece.

Kinda made me wonder what would happen if we recreated the Duffman/Frank Rickard collision right now...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Closed circuit to anyone who might have some kind of idea where Mr. Shoes might be?

The site has crashed and he's not returning my calls... I felt the need to go public.

Developing...

Any luck?  I see he hasn't been here on Pat's site since last October.  Looking forward to seeing JF.com up and running again! 8-)

Veek- I have the same dilemma for Game 1. Labor day weekend is lake time. At least our place is only 15 minutes away. Still, when you're at the lake it's hard to leave...even for Johnnie football.

And Mr. President is spot on about the proposals at Twins games. Any self-respecting woman should run the other way if her dude pulls crap like that. On the other hand, going to a game with this fella would have to be every girl's dream...

The higher ups at Concordia were not thinking to much when scheduling their Family Weekend this fall.  Usually it consist of a home football, volleyball and soccer game as well as other activities for students, parents and friends from all over the country.  But this year they have a different approach, they decided to schedule a football game at St. Johns (where I will most likely be), a volleyball game in Ohio, and a women's soccer game in GAC.  Concordia would like to showcase the men's soccer team who have just as many championships at the Cubs on family weekend.  Granted I get that everyone's parents just don't come to Concordia for the football game, but let's be honest people would more likely say let's go to the cobber football game on family weekend rather than a soccer game.  Truth be told, soccer only matters in the U.S. when the World Cup is played.  When the world cup ends, we forget about soccer for 4 years.

Don't you hate it when a school plays football and soccer on the same field and they put those stupid soccer lines all over a beautiful football field.  What's with that big arch shaped thing anyway?  Man, that bugs me.

Blatant panhandling for Karma, Veek.  Pretty despicable.  Just make sure you leave your 50 yard line seats for me when you have "prior obligations" this season (most of September).

Tmerton: We are getting NO COMMUNICATION from Mr. Shoes.  Stay tuned...

Does anyone know if there is a way to listen to the SJU game on an iphone without paying for Teamline? I was able to download real audio on my old phone, but not on the iphone-wondering if anyone has a solution.

Get SJU to switch over to Stretch Internet for video/audio. Carleton and many other MIAC schools use them, and they'll have video streaming for iPhones this fall.

What??

There was a World Cup?

Dang!

A friend of mine just started his own business, making landmines that look like prayer rugs.
It's doing well.  He says Prophets are going through the roof.

Ah, I see the Amadan Parade has started again, heading for the soccer fields this time.  On with it, lads!

So what's up with Johnniefootball.com?  I go over there to check out the latest in SJU news and it looks like the sites HTML is on vacation.

Need to get TDT on the case!

As long as they don't center homecoming around your cross-country team who has zero home meets this season, your attendance probably won't be too heavily affected.  By the way, the cubs have won 2 championships.

While we're at it, why didn't the Cobbs utilize the field turf installation to tear up the track and put the field closer to the stands?  Did they even bother charging admission to the tens of people who came to the single outdoor track meet last year?  Seems to me that Moorhead has plenty of flat land in which to move the soccer and track facilities to.
