You'll never see a video like this out of Bethel...

For that fact, I am very thankful. Embarrassing.

Is that video actually supposed to make people want to go there?

Perhaps they're having overcrowding issues and are trying to dissuade people from attending?

Makes me want to go there and I'm 63.

My god Stoutguy you are really, really old. You would think someone your age would get more respect.  :D

With the regular season breathing down our necks and a lot of teams holding scrimmages and such this weekend, I was wondering if anyone got a chance to take an early look at any MIAC teams this weekend? I know St. Thomas scrimmaged Martin Luther and some cyber sleuthing told me that Hamline had a so-so outing against a Northwestern team that quite frankly shouldn't stand a chance against legitimate MIAC competition. What about the other schools? Any  optimism around the MIAC or is every team in the league just handing the title to Ray Grant Jr. this season?

Concordia scrimmaged NDSCS in Moorhead.  I wasn't at the game, but it sounds like a preseason type deal where the first team offense and defense played the first half and the second and third teams finished off the scrimmage.  I just read that Dunham had a couple of TD passes.

That's a good scrimmage for Concordia. NDSCS is typically younger players as they're a JC but they send some kids to some pretty legit D-1 programs.

Just a reminder that we will be hosting the Stiftungsfestivities tailgate party Saturday morning in Collegeville before the SJU-Northwestern game. Northwestern fans are more than welcome. The party is located in the parking lot above the scoreboard end of the field. We usually get the gathering going around 10:00 a.m., though many of us are there well before then. Bring a culinary delight to share if you like. As always, we will be serving the famous Stiftungsfest burgers along with delicious pork patties.

My gal pal and her daughter had a great time at the Lady Gaga concert Tuesday night at the Xcel Center. They had front row seats.

JJR-
Please, no Lady Gaga on the playlist for the Stiftungfestivities  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

No, BW, as you are very aware, the age/respect thing runs in a reverse cycle.

All who attend - please remember to avoid shaking hands with me Saturday as I seem to be coming down with a cold (and I'll probably forget). :P

FYI for any of the St. Thomas fans heading to De Pere Saturday.... because it's the first game in the new stadium, it's almost sold out (at least in the stands).

Unlike the old place, there is also standing room available, but you may want to consider going to the website (www.snc.edu/athletics and follow the links on the football page) before 4pm Friday and ordering them online for pickup at will call.

As it is now, I would expect some SNC people to be buying seats in one of the designated visiting sections because that's all  that's left.

Oh, and the forecast is for mid-60s.

See you there.

Ha, St. Thomas can't even get fans to show up to their home games.  What makes you think that anyone'd venture to the hell hole that is Wisconsin to watch that team?

Wow, who pissed in your Wheaties? All I tried to do was offer some helpful information. Relax a bit. If you don't care for Wisconsin or St. Thomas, I don't really care - but I also didn't do anything to you.

This is pretty lame TC. The Twins lost in 13 last night so I know you are upset. I'm not happy about it either.

All the SJU fans that I will be sharing Hamm's with on 9/11 in Eau Claire be sure to slow down and enjoy the scenery of 57Johnnie's native land.  8-)

Welcome to the SJU love board...while most of them are level headed and fun, there are a handful that can't handle it if your statement doesn't include items like "I have a shrine to John Gagliardi in my basement"   ;)

Thanks for the heads up gbpuckfan.

Pay no mind to the lashing given by TC. The Johns are awfully ornery over all the attention the Toms are receiving. Drives them nuts and is really quite amusing to me!

Don't let them scare you off. Before the website reformatted and UST went 2 and 7 in Roney's last unheralded year, I was the lone UST guy on PP outside of an occasional appearance by MIACManiac and they tore me apart routinely. (I have many more posts than my handle indicates) Much like the actual MIAC the MIAC PP has been in need of new teams to talk about for a long time. Kind of boring when it's a forgone conclusion.

(This is the point where SJU fans will point out how it's always a forgone conclusion, it doesn't matter, UST hasn't beaten SJU in a decade and a half, and we'll always find a way to lose to them regardless of talent or record. At which point I will retort that they are an all male hick school in the middle of the woods with a sister school that features females that often outweigh their biggest offensive lineman (lowering the conversation to a lowest common denominator). Subsequently they will make some sort of anecdotal remark about how UST girls have STDs from being so slutty. It's just how it goes here. Bottom line, we all drink Hamm's together at Stiftungfest and make fun of Touchdown Tommy's jacket.)

I think BDB nailed it (or else it's TC's time of the month).  Welcome backe to the board, TC; just please don't startle the new posters.  And if you haven't been reading, TDT has been informing us for some time now that there's a new sheriff in town and he may have more fans than in the past.  It may be kind of a dodgy year on the board.
