Even around my place, the word is to keep your garage doors closed at night so the bears don't get into whatever you might have out there to eat, or worse yet, the Hamm's chillin' in the corner.

Bears have been going after Hamm's for ages, BDB. ;)

ESPN has apparently been having fans vote on the winner of tonight's Vikes-Saints game.  So this morning on Sports Center they had their electoral college style map showing how the states had voted.  Only four states picked the Vikes - three you would expect (Minnesota and the two Dakotas) - and Oklahoma! :o   Wow, hats off to 57; I didn't realize he had so many in-laws, friends and relatives in Sooner land.

Ok... I'm really excited about the Twins, but Capps sucks.  We're in for a big dose of post-season heartache, if we make it.  I bet a bag of crocodile jerky on my next visit to Collegeville that we suffer a blown save on the winning game in the series against the Yankees followed by another blown save the next night to let the Yanks claim the league championship.

I weep already.

Agreed. They are playing great ball right now, but these 9th inning close calls are going to kill them in the playoffs against better competition...

Another great article, TDT.  -k to you.

Just one correction: Being the Johnnies beat NW 56-10 last week, I think we're looking at a Double Monkey Stomp.  A victory by more than 42 points qualifies for that honor, does it not?

As the unoficial keeper of the Monkey Stomp Rules, I can confirm that Oz is correct.  It was a Double Monkey Stomp.

The worst thing about capps is that we traded away one of our top prospects (Ramos) to bring him in.  Granted he has saved mutiple games, but he always has to make things interesting in the 9th.  It may not be a bad idea to try Crain at the closer role for a few games, he has been really good over his past 40 appearances.

And did you notice that last night Ramos was 2 for 3, with a homer for the Natinals?

I don't ............. most of them were smart enough to leave when Wilkenson was still coach of the Sooners & they found out you could get catfish most anywhere.

TDT appreciates all the arm chair editors.  Didn't wanna humiliate AO and Northwestern with the "DOUBLE" monkey stomp...

Just heard from Veek.  He is more excited about Shooters than this Johnnie game.  Hope Finsleft is prepared with plenty of singles...

Hey TDT,
Do you want me to send out the G5 out to pick you up for this weeks Cats game in LA..  11 and I fly out early tomorrow.

USTBench

I figured you'd have Monkey Stomp amendments for all UMAC teams and Hamline. I consider winning by 42 a Monkey Stomp but with a UMAC team or Hamline it should have to be a win by 80 to qualify for a double Monkey Stomp. Also, second and third teamers should not be allowed to let up more than one touchdown.

I'm off to the airport with the family in a couple hours and will be reduced to seedy networks that will probably get me banned from here again.  Thank God for the after-the-game reports on johnniefootball.com for the next four weeks.  I hope to get up for the Bethel game the day after we return, but we'll see if I can get outta da bed.  Heartache over missing Johnnie Magic (c) against the Tommies.

See you all later, or at best sporadically, and Go Johnnies!

Good point Bench.  I'll propose an amendmet to the rules.

However, after what the powerhouse at Crown did to Carlton we may need to make an exception for them.

Just picked up a roll of quarters. After all, we will be in Wisconsin.

BDB

With all of the beautiful females in Wisconsin, fins, 8 of those quarters will get you a cup of coffee and a Pioneer Press, weekday edition.  ;D

Duff, wherever you are going camping this weekend, watch of for bears. Seems like the dudes are everywhere these days.

I'll keep an eye out for bears...the black kind and the Hamm's kind.  Unfortunately, the Johnnie radio network dies between Duluth and Two Harbors, so I'll have to relive the game from the box score.

A tradition unrivaled...
