More pictures of Northfield flooding.  From what I've heard they received 6.5 inches of rain in under 48 hours.

That is rough. It looks like mostly athletic buildings/facilities took the brunt of it on campus. Any word on where the teams will play and practice in the upcoming weeks?

I apologize for the joke earlier, didn't realize it was that bad.  :-[

I didn't realize how bad it was until I saw all the pictures.  The track appears to be completely ruined (it probably needed to be replaced anyways).  Thinking about the town layout, I don't know if any houses will be affected, but there are some businesses that might be hurting.  The Carleton football team helped out after the flooding in Rushford and I haven't personally seen a worse disaster to clean up after.

As for the sports teams, luckily, we have the Rec Center which is on much higher ground.  The football team has been practicing on the lacrosse fields which are located behind the Rec Center and the soccer teams are likely practicing on their game field.  From what I hear, the volleyball team will play their home game tomorrow at Olaf.  I'm not sure what will happen next weekend if the football field is still under.  Both Carleton and Olaf have home games, possibly start one of them at 11 and one at 3?  I'm not sure if there is really any precedent for a situation like this.  Could Carleton be playing their homecoming game at Olaf?

Congrats to Wooderson on baby girl this morning. Wondered if he and Morneau shared the waiting room?

What's the line on the Johnnie Tommie game? Maybe TDT can send me a personal message so I can make sure my pick'em turns out balls.

I for one, will be thoroughly enjoying my weekend in Lincoln on Oct. 16.

We should have a MIAC confab on O Street (it's a bye week for SJU and we had to go somewhere).   Now if I can only get my nephew in Houston to release his tickets to me. 8-)

Completely agree.

1- Stifty burgers would be the perfect way to inaugurate Nebraska's return to national prominence.
2- It's a "red-out" so you'd fit right in with your SJU gear. It'd also be the only tailgate I'd ever attend with y'all where I'd also be wearing red!
3- Start emailing your nephew clips of Nebraska's secondary, d-line and Taylor Martinez. Fill him with so much fear that he realizes leaving Texas that weekend would be a bad idea and he forks over the tickets of his own accord.

Interesting side note: we got $30 face value tickets on Stub Hub for $375 a piece earlier this summer. Same tickets are now going for around $700! Normally, I'd never shell out that kinda dow, but it's to celebrate my dad's 60th b-day...and my mom is the one who actually shelled out the dow!!  :D

Well, at least you guys are away this week.

Bummer if you have to play Augsburg away from home...major bummer if you can't play Olaf at home. Would you guys ever consider playing at Northfield HS (they've got their own field right??)

They have their own field and that might be an option, assuming that field isn't also underwater.  Not sure if this is an issue, but high school goalposts are 23'4" wide and college goalposts are 18'6" wide.  I'll be watching the Carleton website for an announcement on the location for next week.

UST/Cobber game has a webcast available on the St. Thomas website.  The video quality is good, the announcers are poor (although, they did say it was their first game).

Coe upsets Central 37 - 28.

Central was up 28 - 20 at the half.

Big win for Coe as they probably need the AQ to make the playoff field considering their soft non-con schedule.

Interesting to see how this plays out in the IIAC. If Central can bounce back and win out they should be in good shape for an at large.

Would be really crazy to see Central beat Wartburg and Wartburg beat Coe.

UST made a statement against the Cobbers, but SJU was really solid against Auggie Tech.

Personally, I expected the Cobbers to be down this year. It'll be interesting to see if that's the case or if UST is really just that far ahead of everyone else talent-wise

I know we played Hamline at a HS field (Central  ???) a few years back when they were finishing their stadium. But I don't know if that field had adjustable goal posts or if it was just allowed to slide for one game.

WashedUp

Really proud of the Carleton football team today.  Sure it was Hamline, but it was also the first dominant performance of the season.  Given all the factors working against the Knights this week, they easily could have packed it up for the season and mailed it in, but they responded to adversity with a great performance.  Ramler and Pagel had the team ready to play and did a great job of coaching.  The defense bounced back and the offense continued to produce.

Next week will be interesting, will Laird be ready to host a football game?  If not, where will the game be played?  Is this a one week show, or a sign of things to come for the Knights?  How many people will be at the SJU-UST game (I would think it would approach the record)?  Exciting week next week in the MIAC.

56 to 7...I was expecting a win, but wasn't expecting that.

So guys, going to be in Collegeville next weekend. Leaving at noon from Grand Forks Friday and staying in St. Cloud. I assume you'll all be in the south endzone per usual. TDT, I'm not stopping in Sauk Centre to get Hamms if you don't drink any. Also bringing 3 dudes that have never seen the rivalry in person. One is the director of media relations for UND athletics. Looking forward to seeing all you guys.
