PRF2009A

I despise everything Tommie & Johnnie...but how can you not get excited for this game?  I hope it's a classic!  Good luck to both teams.

Prediction:
Johnnies 27
USTD 24

Johnnies will always own  the Tommies.  You don't have to like the teams to know that.

Just checking in for updates and sorry that I won't be in Collegeville.  Exactly why certain Twin Cities High Schools think its ok to 1.) not have lights on their field and 2.) therefore play games on Saturday afternoons is beyond me..stupid private high schools.....

Nevertheless, I am hoping for a Johnnie victory but fearing the worst.  The Toms have talent to burn on both sides of the ball, and if the Johnnies make stupid mistakes, it could be a long afternoon in Collegeville; however, if Caruso gets outcoached like he did in the game last year I believe the Jays' magic will continue-- Gagliardi's scheme last year totally and completely confused the entire UST team and coaching staff-- and was quite funny to watch from a SJU perspective.

So Johnnie up, everybody!

(And Go Huskies!-- the SAVHS variety!)

Shame on anyone predicting more than 30 points against the Johnnies defense.
SJU 31, UST20.
Touchdown, Jackrabbits!

Wow......27-26....and the difference is a missed PAT, it seems only fair that the Tommies steal one every 10-15 years but that just broke my heart...and watching it from the computer while working only made it worse....

Congrats to the Toms, I guess you earned this one..........................maybe???   :P

By the way, 16,000-plus at the game today.

Hell Y-E-S! Nice work Tommies! Getting it done up there on their homecoming was a tall task-nice work.

Getting it Done??....I guess you could say they accomplished their task [Earning a W], but that wasn't exactly the thrashing the mighty Toms were supposed to come away with.

Once again props to the Tommies for the win, but you'll have to wait 14 more years to get another one. .....Oh yeah, and dont worry about Christmas presents this year either, cuz Santa just came early for the Tommies.

blah, blah, blah. Yes, getting out of there with a "w" is getting it done. Doesn't matter how they got it.

You want to talk about Christmas presents, should we talk about the game in St. Paul two years ago? Didn't think so.

Have a nice weekend-I know I'm going to! Thanks to Glenn and the boyz!

You did get it done cst, congrats.  Keeping the Johnnies from scoring after all those turnovers was the key to the game.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Saw a pretty cool pic on Twitter of the Tommie fans storming the field. Well, cool and a bit nauseating from an SJU perspective...but great for the school and the fans (insert joke about how many will see any other games this year).

It's after games like this I like to retreat to the VCR with a tape from the 2003 title game, the same way I break out Game 4 of the 1987 Finals whenever the Lakers drop a tough game.

Feel real bad for Mattson. Johnnies had numerous other chances and a thousand what-ifs - just like the losing teams in numerous games against SJU have had over the years - but it's tough when there's such an abrupt end. Hopefully he bounces back.

Official Attendence: 16,420 and one person in a chicken suit.

!Wow! What an atmosphere for a fairly poorly played game.  Tommies get butterfingers (4 turnovers, only one can possibly be a categorized as forced (the inexplicable interception)) and Johnnies can't capitalize on it.

Johnnies had an excellent game plan and did a remarkable job getting the ball to the outside to open up the middle.  They did a great job Brewstering between the tackles (pound the rock!); kudos.

Boyle and Tracy.  What can you say.  Kids showed some cahones today.

Too bad the game was ultimately decided by the kickers.  But, it seems only fitting that a missed XP ended the game as a missed XP put it into overtime - that, and, what in the hell was Gags thinking throwing when in field goal position at the end of regulation?!?!

Pat Coleman

I don't know if St. John's really considered itself in field goal range on the 27-yard line.
