Hey Oz, on sportscenter today I saw a clip of a kangaroo running on a race track in Australia. Any chance that is the one you took me on?

Ps I think I'm bringing my clubs down this year

It's clear that SJU is upset because they have lost 3 games in the regular season for the first time since 1997.  Too bad and join the majority of the MIAC teams who deals with it each season.  Losing 3 games where none of us have control is not the end of the world.  It's probably harder to take 3 losses when SJU is used to winning every game during the regular season and if they lose it's a complete shock and never should have happened.  Let UST and bethel have their moment in the sun of representing the MIAC well in football.  These cycles tend to happen, even Concordia had their days in 2004 and 05 were towards the top and now are fighting to keep from the very bottom of the conference.  Trust me I don't lose sleep if the cobbers lose.  There are things more important in my life than football.

Whoa, cowboy.  You're working one calf, not the whole herd.

Very good point Oz.

The majority of Johnnie Nation on here is reasonable, and recognizes that teams, even SJU, have ups and downs.

I just get a kick out of the couple (see "AlmostEx)" that can't handle the fact that their beloved Johnnies aren't the best in the MIAC this year, and resort to blaming outside factors such as officiating for the downfall of SJU.

I'm well aware that BU didn't make the playoffs the past 2 years, and certainly isn't a lock to go this year, and could have a horrible season next year,  but you won't see me coming on here and making excuses for their performance or lack there of.  Teams win, teams lose.

If I said I agree, my girlfriend would call me a liar.

Her: There's football games on Tuesday too?
Me: I guess.
Her: You've got to be kidding me, who the heck is playing?
Me: Troy and Middle Tennessee St.
Her: Are they any good?
Me: Not really?
Her:Then why are you watching it?
Me: Because...it's football. On Tuesday.
Her: (Sighs. Stares hole through me. Goes to bedroom. Turns on Real Housewives of Atlanta as loud as the TV will go.)

English language and d3.com boards, are they compatible?

BlueandGold.  I don't see the inconsistency; there is no intellectual dishonesty on my part. "play the game and don't  let it get in a situation where a blown call can make the difference" in no way prohibits me from expressing an opinion about MIAC football officials – two separate audiences.  Is this stuff too subtle?

The crew at the Concordia game swallowed their collective whistles; they went out of their way not to make a holding call.  The O-line was riding the D-line like they were show ponies at the county fair.  Horan and his staff coach their O-Line to hold until the penalty is called – not an uncommon practice for many coaches in many sports.  When the official doesn't make the correct call, intentionally in this case (IMHO), they create a clear advantage for the O-line.

??? ::) Yep, you're the only one on here that understands English.

Yes, the officials during the SJU v. Cobber tilt were intentionally not calling clear and blatant holding penalties. Unless you had a forthright conversation with one of these officials after the game, IMHO should read, IMHUO (Uninformed). :o

And since Coach Horan has obviously visited with you at length about his O-Line coaching philosophy we'll defer to your wisdom from here on out. :-*

And just to complete that last emoticon-happy post... :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( 8-) :-[ :-X :-\ :'(
...there, that should just about take care of being an equal opportunity emoticonner

That would be the race at Bathurst, New South Wales on Mount Panorama.  Apparently, it has a great view.  Very imaginative, those early Australian settlers.  I drove you around Albert Park, which is the Formula One track here in Melbourne.

Bathurst is actually a very challenging track with a long straight up the mountain that challenges a car's power, very tight, twisting turns around the top and starting back down that challenge the driver (see Marcos Ambrose's road skills in NASCAR - ignoring the outfit he currently races with) and then a really long straight down the mountain again where power once more comes into play.

The roo in the clip you saw was jumping on the track just before the long downhill straight.  A roo was actually hit a few years ago about 100 meters further down the track and it shattered the car (not to mention the hurt done to Christopher Robins' little buddy).

If you do bring your clubs and you can get free for a full free day, I'll take you with some friends (mine... do you have any? :o ) down the coast and we'll play a championship grade links course with some tasty grub and amber nourishment afterwards.  And since I now know that you golfed on the top squad at Bethel, you'll be measured on a handicap of 2 regardless of your current state of play.  We're getting to be old men down here and need all the advantage we can get.

I'm on the road to Madison right now to work Gameday. Anyone going to the game this weekend and want a tour of the show? Anyone is welcome to come!

That sounds like a pretty sweet offer.  When does the show get into town?  I'll probably be heading to the Carleton-Olaf game, but I'm not sure what time we're leaving yet.

:-[ I watched it too... and it wasn't even a good game between bad teams; it was a bad game between bad teams.

Shoot I was hoping you had forgotten I was on the team! Now I'm going to have to practice a bit  :)

But seriously now I'm definitely bringing my clubs. I will email you when it comes time to book my flight and maybe it would work for me to come in a day early or stay a day late so we have time to head to the coast. That would be awesome!

Dang it Oz, I just gave you +K for making me laugh with the armchair comment and now I am going to have to wait until tomorrow to give you +K for this gem!!

Cobbernation- Some of us realize how spoiled we are by the Johnnies success. Would I like to finish every season with a play-off run and a National Championship? Sure! Am I devastated that the Johnnies may finish the season 7-3? Not really. There is always next year and this just frees up my Saturdays in December. :D

In what I'm sure was the most anticipated match up of the season, Carleton will now be traveling to Macalester in a week and the game time has been moved from 1 PM to 6 PM.  Everybody be sure to mark your calendars, clear your schedules and travel to the correct stadium.
