Johnnie Red well taken care of, not like he dishes out but he blended in-as much as someone wearing all things St. Johns can.

UGH. Nebraska played about as ugly a game of football as I've ever seen.

Looks like BU v. GAC was a defensive battle of sorts. We need to get some offensive balance to play with UST.

Nice win by Wartburg today. Is it just me, or should this drop both Coe and Central significantly in the polls?

Pat Coleman

Probably, unless the voters choose to vault Wartburg. But I don't think the IIAC has three top 10 teams.

GHC,
I'm sure you took care of him at your tailgate spread & the Elks Lodge! As long as he has his plane ticket & bail money he'll surely find his way back to SJU. ;)
Safe travels JJR  :D

Sumander, I tried another of Lift Bridge Brewery's offerings today--Minnesota Tan.  I was very unimpressed.  As much as I'd like to support a Johnnie-owned business, I just don't like their beers.

Surly's got a new beer--Surly Wet--that is brewed with wet hops.  I haven't gotten any yet, but I have heard good things.  And Surly Darkness will be out soon.  I hope to get my hands on at least one bottle this year.

A tradition unrivaled...

I'm surprised Sansevere or Ruesse didn't ask Maturi about Caruso.   ::)

Adam Weber is a class act.  I feel sorry for him, and the other players.  Brewster was just in over his head.

And Sid was PISSED.  I wish they would have had the camera on him when he was talking.

Maturi doesn't want the kids to be booed at the remaining home games-and perhaps put some butts in the seats as well.

ROR- how do we know that Sansevere or Ruesse haven't spoken to Maturi in private about Caruso? Both being part of the Twin Cities Media cabal, they are running a decoy as to not bring attention to the front runner and quietly secure his hiring in a smoke filled back room  :o

Here's what Sid said during the press conference (with a lot of emotion):

Nobody's been a bigger supporter of your guys than myself.  I was wrong in this.  I didn't think the University of Minnesota would do a stupid thing like this, fire the guy in the middle of the season.  But you look back at your game on Saturday, Tinsley's running for a touchdown and he winds up in a touchback, you have a bad pass from center, that winds up in a touchdown.  Bennett scores a touchdown, and somebody's offsides.  Brewster made all those mistakes?  Unfortunately, he's the coach and he gets fired.

Perhaps Horton doesn't like Sid and won't give him all the inside scoop,so Sid actually has to do his job  ;)

With the Johnnies post season hopes smashed, caruso not being mentioned for the gophers (yet) :)  I'll throw this out about the NFL, the NFC sucks.  This being said whoever emerges from it will probably win the Super Bowl.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Even the Nebraska fans gave Texas credit.  Great weekend.  We stayed with former neighbors we haven't seen in over 20 years and had a great time.  The old Haymarket Area is very nice.  Very unexpected result, and had Nebraska caught a few passes might have been different.  But they didn't and it wasn't.

Texas fight!

Brewster being gone will be a major positive for the program.  Highly doubt Caruso will get the job.  My guess is either Marc Trestman or Al Golden from temple.  There's no way they'll lure a coach away from a good thing.  Especially with some of the names I heard.  Sorry but the guys at TCU and Boise aren't going to leave and never a shot at Dungy.  This will be interesting to see who gets saddled with that mess.  Go Badgers. :)
