What constitutes a blow out in these parts?  Two, three, four touchdowns?
We don't use blow out on this board.
A 'Monkey Stomp' is 21 points  :P

I tried to find the post where the stomp rules were laid out, but couldn't.  Is this an accurate memory?

Monkey Stomp = victory by at least 21 points
Monkey Stompout = shutout victory by at least 21 points
Double Monkey Stomp = victory by at least 42 points (moving up the stomp count every 21 points)
Double Monkey Stompout = shutout victory by at least 42 points (again moving up to the triple at 63 points)

It seems to me that we had a few other conditions defined, but I can't remember them.  Any others with some stable neurons?
You got all that matters. If you have any questions you must refer them to the Engineers on the Liberty League board who are the Masters of Monkey Business.  :D

I haven't added updates I've received since 2006.  I'll do that shortly.

I also had a nice logo that rpi_77 had on Geocities, which no longer exists.  I'll head over to the Liberty League board and see if any of those guys might have it.

Carleton-SJU game to be played at........Laird Stadium!

https://apps.carleton.edu/athletics/varsity_sports/football/?story_id=679533

According to the article, "Electrical power has been restored to the stadium, but the interior of the building is still under repair, so the College will use the Recreation Center across campus for the athletic training room as well as for locker room space for both teams."

I don't know the Carleton campus, but how do you use a building "across campus" for the locker room?  Assume, for example, that it's raining.

Quote from: MIAC23 on October 19, 2010, 01:44:43 PMAdam Weber may be the worst QB in the Big Ten. Maybe that is stretching it a bit, but he is awful. I credit him for sticking it out with the carousel of offensive coordinators he has had, but still he is brutal. He will make a great pass one play, then the next three passes he will bounce to his receivers. Look at last year against South Dakota State. We scored only 16 points against a lower tier school, when a couple weeks later the University of Montana hung about 70 on them. Enough said.

I'm glad somebody stepped up and said this before I had to.  No disrespect to the young man but the quarterback position has to be functional at reading defenses and throwing the football.  Not only was Weber's accuracy an issue but he liked to stare down receivers and was routinely late delivering the ball.

Speaking of quarterbacks, Marcus Brumm (Augsburg) is out this week and possibly longer with a shoulder injury.  I'm hearing it might be his labrum but I haven't received confirmation yet.  In an interesting twist my sources tell me that wide receiver Muneer Al-Hameed, not the backup quaterback, will line up behind the center this weekend at St. Olaf.

The Rec Center will be an inconvenient locker room.  It is close to a 10 minute walk from the stadium, so I would imagine that there would have to be a bus involved or some sort of temporary locker room (like Olaf's shed).  The locker rooms also aren't very big and it will likely be tough to fit even the whole offense or defense in a room.  It isn't a very ideal situation, though for visiting teams I'm not sure the locker room situation is ever very good at Carleton.

Wow, the more I learn the less I know.

Pat I was going to ask that he next summer intern publish a d3boards.com lexicon, but I see this is much more organic.

I will wait for the complete (don't speak those words) to monkey stomp translation and rule set before I tempt any more negative karma and offer my Monkey Stomp projection of UST - Bethel.  Will I implode in cyber space and/or physical space if I attain a specifed level of negative karma?

Hope Brumm's injuries are not severe.  He was a good high school quarterback and I thought a good addition to the level of play in the MIAC.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Looks like even the weather is going to cooperate for the Big Showdown: Part II (aska BU @ UST). Should be a great game, probably every bit as hard-fought as the UST-USJ game a couple of weeks back, hopefully with a similar, but less dramatic, outcome.  BU's defense is solid and their running game, particularly if Flannery is healthy, is extremely good and can eat up the clock. The passing game is under-rated but respectable.  Idont see a monkey stomp, but UST shoudl win, something like 28-13.

I'm planning to sit in the luxury accomodations along Anderson Center. Hopefully, they are as nice as they look  :)

Are there minimum requirements of what accommodations have to be available to the visiting team?  I look forward to seeing the Carleton campus but I'm not so sure I look forward to the game and stadium situation, esp. for the players.  Just have to hope there is decent weather.

I can see BU winning this game. Play solid defense, don't allow any big plays to UST, eat the clock on offense & finish drives with a TD. I wouldn't be surprised with a 21-17 BU victory.

I suspect that the Johnnies will dress and shower in Collegeville.  Just like high school.

Carlton does have a nice stadium, although all seating is on one side.  It's an old stadium that was, I believe) built when Carlton was looking to join the Big 10.  Remember, The University of Chicago was a member until 1946.

Has the raw sewage and dead fish been removed from the stadium ???

I've heard the same ROR. The way I heard it, Laird was under construction at the time the decision was made not to join the Big 10 (or the Big 10 rejected CC's bid?) and they stopped the project at that point. That is why the seating is all on the one side.

It is a nice venue for football, though. Good sightlines, the CC students are pretty entertaining, and NO commercial announcements/promo spots  (Im sure TMert will love the tranquility of this!)

Riding the bus after dressing at the home locker room isnt new to the metro schools, but could be a little uncomfy for a ride from Collegeville to Northfield.

I look forward to seeing the river and forest wildlife, too.  Maybe Duff can get in some fishing.
