D3Football.com: "The Tommies finished off the win without their starting quarterback, as Dakota Tracy got his bell rung in the fourth quarter, without their starting running back, as Ben Wartman had just one carry for 10 yards in the second half, and without starting right guard Chad Vandergriff, who was helped off the field after injuring his knee early in the game and spent the second half on crutches."

Wartman didn't finish the game because he got flat out shut down. He was really unimpressive. His replacement was the different for UST in the second half.

And Pat, just to make the injurie report balanced. BU played without their top 3 WRs. You play with who you have, but after that quote by the website making it sound like UST was the only team overcoming any injuries, I thought I'd add some balance.  ::)

Wow, the more I learn the less I know.

Pat I was going to ask that he next summer intern publish a d3boards.com lexicon, but I see this is much more organic.

I will wait for the complete (don't speak those words) to monkey stomp translation and rule set before I tempt any more negative karma and offer my Monkey Stomp projection of UST - Bethel.  Will I implode in cyber space and/or physical space if I attain a specifed level of negative karma?

Yes, that was quite a stomping that UST put on BU.  Good call.

If anyone is having trouble finding the woodwork, just follow the string of Tommies with less than 10 posts...
I realize it may have been back in the Neanderthal era, but, you had less than 10 posts at one time. Cut the new posters some slack, last time I looked the board is called MIAC, not Johnnie Land.

Johnnie /GAC game story/recap at www.JohnnieFootball.com

Did anyone else hear on the post-game on WBHR 660 AM- Jimmy G. & VOJ referencing the game next week at St. Olaf ???
I admit I tuned in mid-conversation, but all the schedules I looked at still show Carleton next week and Nov. 6th at St. Olaf. Any thoughts? Clarification VOJ?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I think what OZ is saying is that this great site has been around for quite a while-where have been? Perhaps you were in high school when this site started? Or perhaps when your team finally started winning you start posting.

Can you explain what you mean here?

Glad you did that I read that 5 times and still have no clue.

Life Long Tommie,

A bit of advice, pay no mind to the comments about lack of posts, attendance, etc. Clearly, the Tommie's success is a bitter pill for some of the John fans to swallow (pun intended) and they're left to try and take shots at the new board posters, their lack of posts and play the attendance card. This board has been a Johnnie smoke fest for sometime and it's apparent they're not to enthusiastic to share. I take pleasure in it all, just reaffirms the Toms arrival! ;D

Touchdown Tommy

Paid attendance vs actual attendance...

Always good to see my buddy VOJ after the game in the press box.  He had some smart ass remarks for me!

Oh and I believe Clark was ducking me at the tailgate.  I'm sure Finsleft and DustySJU can attest to this.

Happy to, but please no one take this as making excuses for a BU loss. Again, you play with who you have.

Our #1 WR is out with a broken collar bone.
#2 with a torn ACL
#3 (would now be considered our #1) was a best man in his brothers wedding on Saturday. He's a freshman (Hallstrom #35, Eden Prairie) and I can only assume his now sister in law probably assumed it wouldn't be as big a deal as it was for him to miss this game as it actually was. But you can't fault him for the poor timing of the wedding.

Was that a helpful clarification? FWIW, I thought the other WRs stepped up pretty well on Saturday against the best secondary they've faced to date.

Pat Coleman

So instead of "wining" you meant without. That's more what I was looking for, but I appreciate the clarification.

Hilbrands hasn't played in what, a month? Who's the other? I would probably argue it's not the same as losing players in-game. The wedding thing ... ugh. All we heard was the late change in the depth chart.

Ha! Yep, without. Hazards of posting from an iPhone!

Yeah, I think this was the third game Hilbrands missed. And you've got to feel for the kid in the wedding situation. Total catch 22. It had to be agonizing to know you were going to miss.

And agreed. BU was able to game plan that they wouldn't have them, UST had to adjust to the lineman and Tracy on the fly.

SUMMIT!!!!!

shoot, Hazz, I thought you meant BU was wining (and dining) them which made no sense, but neither does the wedding excuse for missing a game. Crappy of the bride to put her brother-in-law in a position like that. Can cause serious family stress that lasts longer than the marriage.

Still there is a huge difference between having guys completely miss the game and having guys go down with in-game injuries.

That said, the Royals played a heck of a game and, barring a loss in the next 3 week, deserve a playoff berth. A 2nd round rematch could be very interesting!
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.
