I highly doubt it, he is saving his catches for the NFL.

It is on the Johnnies to preserve the full season shutout...

I think he's going to explode this week  :D

What I didn't artfully articulate yesterday was, why bring in teams from Illinois when the regional ranking sets up nicely for the region. It seems as if the "North" has plenty of teams without bringing in UWW for the #1 seed.

The North definitely has plenty of quality teams. However, the national committee has shown a proclivity to build regions around who they believe are the top 4 teams.

Given the most recent regional rankings, it seems more likely for UST to become the fourth #1 seed than for North Central.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Gags ahead of the curve again.

It's going to be interesting to see where these concerns about concussions take us in the years to come.

A nice, informative article... but isn't John 84 (not 82)? and isnt this his 55th (not 53rd) season at USJ? It made me double-check the article's date, which is listed as 2010.

Well, since he is at zero right now, if he records even 1 reception you wouldn't be able to mathematically come up with the percentage increase.

So I guess that could be described as exploding.

Will this week mark Ray Grant's first reception of the season???

I think the ladies are going to melt!  Look at those puppy-dog eyes and the compassionate head-tilt.  His aim isn't to play tough, but to clean up on the cheer leaders.

It seems like the regional ranking for the West sets up a nice bracket, remove the #8 ranked team and substitute with St. Norbert-an AQ. If you make UST a #1 seed, then you need another #8 seed-who would that be? Think NCAA-few flights as possible.

Hey, the Johnnies are close.  And I'm sure the boys would love another crack at UST! 8-)  [And before Pat jumps in to advise me that SJU is nowhere close to getting in, trust me that is well understood.]  Edit - I also believe that the Jays are better than whatever team will get that spot.  They just got the short straw this year.  Whatever.  Good luck to UST and Bethel.

Yes, I think we'll all be shocked when the pairings are announced Sunday morning...

By the way, talk about abandoning ship... where did TC wander off to?

My hunch is he's down in Central America checking out some prospects for the Twins.  I don't thnk I saw him at a game all year, though I understand he was one of the 16,400 at the UST game.

Just read the drop on the upcoming Stiftungsfestivities at JF.com:

"Currently standing at a season record of 6 – 3, we'll settle for a final road trip to Collegeville this Saturday to watch the Hamine Pipers close out another miserable season."

I'm hoping "another miserable season" is in reference to the Pipers season and not one of my fellow Johnnies pouting over missing out on the D-III playoffs.

Wish I could be there in Collegeville this weekend. I'll be in Knoxville singing 'Rocky Top' instead.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

+k SS, but of the johnniefootball.com writers, there is only one byline you need be wary of...

And as for the game, join us Johnnie faithful right here on the interwebs.

Also, the gojohnnies Youtube channel has many highlights.  Here are the big plays from last week's game against Olaf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_j__CJIzdhs&feature=sub.

That tube over the barstool you've been sitting on may put this record to shame.

As of right now my plan is to attend (with my video camera) the Augsburg @ Bethel game on Saturday.  If I do I will post first and second half highlights on my YouTube site.  I'm excited to see Bethel running back Logan Flannery.  Here's a pretty neat article profiling him...

Johnnie Red

Unfortunately, the Stiftungsfestivities will not be happening today in Collegeville. :'( After getting in my workout this morning, I hit the road in Chaska to head to Collegeville. I gave up the trip as I was heading to Waconia because the roads were so full of snow and I could only go about 30 mph. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like going through New Germany, Waverly and Maple Lake on my way up to Clearwater and I-94. Hopefully the Arths will be able to make it and host the chili feed.

It will be different staying at home listening to the Johnnie game on the radio this afternoon. As always, GO JOHNNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
