Bethel must not have a kicker? Or they are hurt?
MIAC looking good so far.

Bad kicker... a few games back they started going for 2.

SUMMIT!!!!!

well, Benedictine was as advertised. UST moved at will and the defense was solid as usual.  Hopefully it was a good tune up for next week. Im sure the level of competition will be much more demanding, whether its Linfield or Cal Lute (probably Linfield)

Happens in the first round every year.  From here on out the only likely lop-sided scores will be by Mount and UWW.

Congratulations to Bethel and UST on the big wins today.

Agreed...way to go BU!

Think they have a shot at avenging the last second loss to Wheaton from last year?

I've got the utmost respect for Wheaton. They're always well coached, they play extremely hard and as we've seen in 09 and 08, they know how to pull games out at the end. They also just beat a very quality Coe team in an impressive come from behind game.

That said, I think Bethel feels like they owe the Thunder one (or two). Losing in a monsoon and on the last play of the game is tough to swallow.

I think it's gonna be a battle. Very, very physical. But I like the matchup, so yeah, we've definitely got a shot. I'd actually say it's pretty even. And I like that several posters on the CCIW board were commenting this weak that if Wheaton beat Coe, they would have a good shot to run the table in the West. As tight as this region is, not sure how you could look past the winner of the Wartburg - Bethel game. But that's posters on these boards, and we don't play any snaps on Saturday  :)

Congrats UST. Nice warm-up game. Hope you stayed healthy and can keep the MIAC roll going.

Big day offensively for Bethel:

508 total yds. 235 passing. 273 rushing. TOP 33:17

Aakre: 12-19 198 yds 2 TD; 16 for 73 rushing

Flannery: 23 for 137 rushing, TD; 3 for 45 receiving, TD. Big catch on 3rd and short to seal the deal late in the game.

Hallstrom: 6 for 119 receiving, TD

Kicker...0-1 on PATs  ??? ???

Secondary understandably led the team in tackles with all of Wartburg's passing. Personally, I felt like we didn't put our best foot forward defensively. We had some poor tackling, especially in the first half. But we also made some big stops down the stretch.

Best part about the playoffs, beat a good team one week, you get a better team the next! On to Wheaton...

OK!

After reading the pact I signed in July about 'no traveling to a football game on family Thanksgiving holiday' I will have to stay in SoCal and watch.

The trade off is a couple days in Las Vegas at The Palm commencing Sunday. TDT, what was the name of the gal at 'Lil Darlings you told me to go see?

Utmost respect for St. Thomas    ;)
