Really no tailgating options around the stadium so will be hitting a local St Paul establishment for the pregame beer/burgers.

Ive heard Tiff's, At the Intersection of Ford Parkway, and Cleveland Ave (2051 Ford Parkway) Will have a shuttle running to the game from the bar, its a good local spot to grab a brew and a burger. And for those of you who cant handle the cold, they said they will show the Video Webcast on the TV's in the Bar. I went there after the game yesterday and was highly impressed.

Congratulations to both Bethel & UST.

Pretty lopsided coverage in the Star Tribune this morning. UST gets a half page and Bethel gets 5 sentences. I don't expect them to send a reporter to Waverly, Iowa to cover Bethel but could they at least get an Associate Press story and reprint it?

105: AP doesn't staff these games either. You're at the mercy of what the school sends to the paper (or to the AP, and then hope the AP distributes it).

Of course, I am sure the school sent more than five sentences.
Agreed Pat, they could have used the piece from the Bethel website and edited it and then printed more than 5 sentences :-\
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Ok GHC you'll have a great time talking circles around the Tommies.  These guys yapping don't have a clue what a powerhouse program that Linfield is (albeit 0-3 against the Johnnies).  Time to gas up the G4 & stop in Portland to pick up 11 for the flight to MSP.  I'll see you Friday afternoon for Happy Hour...

I've got the Cats as an early 10 point favorite.  I'll be there and hope the game is entertaining.  Really no tailgating options around the stadium so will be hitting a local St Paul establishment for the pregame beer/burgers.

TDT;  Give me a call this week and discuss coverage for this annual Thanksgiving MIAC/NWC post-season face-off.  There may be a stipend involved consisting of a bar tab for you and GHC prior to game time.

Regarding tailgating, are we sure our 2008 boulevard bounty on Summit Avenue has been completely eliminated from pre-game shinanegans?

Sounds like someone found some mind-altering drugs in mom's coat. With all due respect to Linfield, aint no way they leave St. Paul with a win.

I realize that Benedictine would likely finish 6th in the MIAC (and 2nd in the UMAC), but Saturday's game showed how potent the Tommie offense can be when healthy. Wartman is as close to 100% as he's been all season, and Tobin is a more than capable fill-in. Tracy is recovered (15-of-16 is good no matter who its against) and the defense is eager to redeem from last year's loss.  Becker, Ervin, Bageri, Dietz etc will make mush of the Cats' offense.

By the end of the game, LU will be wishing they were playing the purple Wildcats from Randolph & Cretin!

I expect Wartman for go for 150+, with 2-3 scores. A big game from Waldvogel is almost a given and the defense will dominate.... 35-10 and you can Fed Ex that in:)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Wow, maniac, I think you and TDT must be sharing the same drugs.  I don't expect either team to cruise the way you two do.

I'll listen in (watch) as much as possible before heading off for high school playoffs here (#13's alma mater is making another run for the state championship game).

Don't be silly. There are plenty of ways they leave St. Paul with a win.

Maniac, UST could barely pull out a win versus MIAC 3rd-place SJU and you expect a Monkey Stomp of the Wildcats?  ::)

Tiff's is an OK joint, but any visit to that neighborhood would not be complete without a stop at The Nook. Great food and great tap beers (including Hamm's!). And you can't find a better bar than O'Gara's.

Not even Cal Lutheran?  ::)

However I will give you guys a pass on that game since it happened way back on September 11th. Is Brett Elliot still your quarterback? I heard he once threw a ball clear over Mount Hood.

I'm expecting a very evenly matched game in St. Paul that ends in a 47-47 tie. Neither teams advances and Bethel gets a bye before they renew their heated rivalry with Mount Union.

DoubleO

I think both teams match up well. The team that limits mistakes (turnovers and penalties) will walk away with a w. It will be important for UST to control the line of scrimmage and have the ability to pound the ball. Squeeze the pill Saturday, boys.

Duff, the narrow margin of victory vs 3rd place SJU does not concern me much. As I know you are well aware, for the most part when the Toms & Johns get together the records go out the window.
