Doing a little Friday afternoon interwebs browsing and found this little nugget.  When Gagliardi finally retires the next Johnnies coach may be... Brett Favre.  The similarities in philosophy are uncanny:

"Favre said that, if he were coach, the team would get away from trying to use lots of different formations and motions, but would instead pick out the plays they do well and run those until the other team proves they can stop it."

The answer to Ziggy is , "No, T-Jack has no future in the NFL- he's made some nice money, now go away & don't spend it all in one place. Have a nice retirement and look forward to your NFL retirement checks T-Jack."

Let's see- last year Linfield wins by 11 at home-with a net 4 turnovers. UST at home with pretty much the whole team back from last year-not sure I see Linfield by 10. But, UST did struggle against an average SJU team-so who knows-but it sounds like UST may be the actual underdog. Either way, shapes up to be a fantastic game tomorrow.

Gagliardi Award nominees seem a little lackluster this year.

Case in point: Wartman for UST is a very good back and by all accounts an even better young man and students, but he is in no way shape or form the best player in DIII. IMO a guy who doesn't even make first team all conference is not Gagliardi caliber. I realize the award is about more than just on the field performance, but it isn't less than that.

I've said this on a couple of other boards too, so sorry for anyone who's reading this for a second time, but there are a couple of players who are finalists who aren't even having the best years of their careers, not by a long shot. I don't think they can be player of the year if they were far better last year or the year before.
