If the Winter Storm of the century, that coincidentally 'CCO is forecasting, indeed pans out who does that favor in this championship game?

Storm of the century?  Ground and pound, I think.  Flannery's day in the sun.  During the snow storm of the century.  Ironic.

With Oz-land about to break into summer, do you experience schadenfreude watching the playoff games?! ;D

I don't know about schadenfreude, but I sure take a lot of pleasure from your all's misfortune.

Saturday's game will be on 830, WCCO.

Wow.  Who would have thought that new locker rooms could pay off this big?

I have to admit that there are so many cynical ways to look at this pitiful and predictable bandwagoneering that I'm having trouble figuring out which one to type.  So, when CCO's ratings reflect the same pitiful showing of the Tommie fans what will be the conclusion?

I would conclude that you people had nobody show up for a playoff game over the past THREE weeks.

Fair dinkum. If this game turns into a snow globe I like our chances quite a bit. The kicking game would be neutralized and our O-line/running game will shine through to another week...

Agreed.  I definitely think poor weather aids the Royals as they obviously love their lines and running.  More importantly though, they have played a snow game this year while St. Thomas had a bye during the snowy week.

But, UST hearts spending money, so I can't really believe they will let snow sit on the field like we saw at SJU and Bethel.  Unless its truly blizzard conditions tomorrow, during the game, I'd expect the field to be free of standing snow.

Don't worry. The NCAA will mandate it.

If this game had been @ bethel, would it have been moved elsewhere since it is natural turf, which has been long frozen by now?  Would they have moved it to UST's field turf, or to a neutral site?

Pat Coleman

Not necessarily -- the NCAA doesn't have a blanket policy against grass. As long as the field is playable and safe, I don't think the NCAA cares.

If Bethel had been seeded to host, and the game needed to be moved, I suspect that a neutral field would have been the first choice before going to St. Thomas. In the past Brockport State had a home game at nearby Rochester and Linfield played at Willamette when their grass fields became unplayable later in the postseason.

PurpleReign,

if you want to tweak the Johnnies have at it, but the "balance of power" in recruiting between these two schools (SJU/UST) is a bit more involved than your jibe might suggest.

At its most basic, and as a counter, SJU has enjoyed a three week head start in recruiting this year, right?
