Back in your box, bennie.  You classless hag.

I'm not demanding anyone cheer for Bethel. But if the shoe was on the other foot, as it has been, I'd cheer for the MIAC rep to go as deep as possible. It's good for the league and by extension good for my school. You'll find the same sentiment on the boards for the NWC, IIAC, CCIW, etc. Again, that doesn't mean any SJU fan is required to get behind Bethel. But just know that when you don't, it comes off as petty and arrogant. But then, by the looks of things, some of you might be just fine with that.

@sju56321 -  ::) yep, we may very well lose on Saturday, but it's not a given. And as much as you seem bent on raining on our parade as much as possible, we will enjoy the moment. Call it hopeless, but we'll also cheer hard and be excited for our team. I deeply regret that this is all so offensive to your omniscience.  :P

Glad to fill the void  ::)  If you want to judge me on the basis of my views of MIAC football, so be it.  It's no skin off my knees.

I'm still not sure why we get into this discussion every year.  It's much easier when the Johnnies have control and leave the rest of the MIAC at home  ;)

Yah well......we have been WAITING for that rematch for seven long years now.  Let's get 'er done next year boys!   :D  Quit sending the Baptist boys to do a job that only the hard-drinking, God-sponsored gambling, Catholic boys should be doing.   ;D

Gotta bring an "A" game, and the Johnnies haven't been up to the task since.  We don't need any repeats of the 1993 and 2001 SJU/MUC meetings  ;)

I am not offended-just a realist, who doesn't have crazy notions of Bethel win. But I will give you this, if I was a fan of Bethel, I too would cheer and hope for the impossible-heck if SJU can beat Mount, maybe a Christmas miracle will happen.

Since my three favorite football teams are Central and whoever is playing Mt. Union and whoever is playing UWWhitewater, and I don't have any rivalry issues, I'll wish Bethel the best of luck Saturday.

Really?? ::)

I agree that having the MIAC do well in the playoffs is great, but that doesn't mean I have to actively support the other teams. Since I haven't been cheering for Bethel so far, and they have been doing just fine without the Bennie Stamp of Approval, are you sure you want me to start cheering for them now? You are obviously not superstitious! ;)

If you had a nickel for each time, I think you'd have a dime by now...at most. :)

Where the heck did that come from?  Gaining comfort from beating bethel in basketball? Things must be getting goofy in Collegeville.  Inferiority complex brewing?

Hazzben,

We have plenty of support and even though I totally agree with your thoughts, let's just do this with those that have always been BU supporters.  Don't take me wrong, would love the support of those that truely see Hazzben's statements, but really, we have plenty.

I've been going to MIAC games now for 4 years, have traveled the region watching playoff games, and we still have more fans than the home team.  Why should anything be different in Ohio!!

You go to SJU and if it wasn't for the "old timers" (all of John's classmates and drinking buddies), we'd have more fans there as well.  Heck, several years ago I heard there was 8,000 fans already in the stands at 10 a.m., and most of them were BU fans!  We have our supporters and they will always be true to the Royals.
SJU this year at BU is a prime example of how they will follow their team if they are winning.  If they had beaten UST the week before, there would have been at least another 1000 or so at the game.  John's classmates are just to old to travel that far when his team is losing.

Good Luck BU

You are aware that John went to Colorado College, right......? It is quite the travel schedule from Colorado Springs to watch a team that is out of the play-off race  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Shoot, and here I thought I was being more subtle about pinning my hopes on Bennie's backing  ;)
