As a side question, can anyone remember when another MIAC team was ranked ahead of the Auggies, much less the Johnnies?

My guess is a long time.  The Auggie wrestling dynasty has been ridiculous for a long time.  Although, if I remember correctly, the Johnnies did beat them in a dual last season.  And I don't think they have a Johnnie/Auggie dual this season--I was hoping to see it.

Speaking of wrestling, the Gophers are looking to be a tough team this year.  They dropped a tight one to #2 OK State, but are looking like a team to beat.

A tradition unrivaled...

So scrubby "effed" up yet another post, guess the grandson wasn't the only one in the family to set a career record this week.   ::)
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Funny stuff, Scrubby; funny stuff.  However, I think the main deterrent to a larger SJU turnout at this year's Bethel game was the rumor that beer was not going to be allowed during the pre-game festivities.  Also as I remember a large number of the Bethel "fans" were in fact visiting high school students who were on campus for some event that day, all in their nice white t-shirts.  (Nice way to pump up attendance, though.)  As for Bethel fans outnumbering Johnnie fans at any game in Collegeville, you've gotta be high on something - Robitussin, Geritol or whatever.

Good luck to your grandson.  He's a great player.

Scrubby

Honestly, with all due respect, I was just trying to have some fun!  I didn't mean to hit a nerve--especially w/you sensitive SJU posters.  Please forgive me.  Just an old man having some fun until game time.  Good luck and happy holidays to all!!

Reminder to all Bethel fans making the trip to Alliance!

Friday evening there will be a group of the Mount faithful gathering at the Wing Warehouse in Alliance--1.5 miles west of campus on State Street (US 62), very near the Alliance hotels--starting at around 8:00 pm.  We welcome any and all of you to join us for a little pre-game fun.  Wing Warehouse is a family friendly restaurant and pub--lots of sandwiches, appetizers, beverages and especially delicious wings (in lots of different flavors--golden garlic rocks!!)

We are a friendly, albeit proud, group of faculty, staff, alumni, and all around supporters who love to meet new people and have friendly banter.  We might even buy you a beverage if you show up.  Look for the group of middle aged (and older) guys wearing too much purple--and especially look out for the big guy with the straw hat and pony tail (That would be me! ;D ;D)

Hope to see some of you there--

Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

I'd also like to invite any and all D3 fans in the Alliance area to the Wing Warehouse. We'd like to have a large crowd so we don't have to listen to HSCoach all night  :o
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

There.  Fixed it for you.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Good Luck Royals (or Navies? as the last couple painstaking pages have been debating) this weekend!  I'm sick of the wrong purples being in Salem!

24 hours to kickoff!

Excited to see how we stack up against The Machine!

Lay it all on the line, nothing to lose boys...AGONA!

Go Royals.

Health and safe travels to both teams and fans this weekend.

Presumably you mean you're sick of the same purples being in Salem.  Otherwise you're suggesting that some other purples should have been in Salem in the past.  You couldn't possibly mean USTD purple - if so you must be sharing Scrubby's stash.

sounds like with the weather we're supposed to get tomorrow, if st. thomas had won last week, it could have been a fun game to watch...

Same here... if it cant be "my" team, it CAN be "my" conference!

SUMMIT!!!!!

A nice piece on Coach J in this morning's Strib:
http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/111641354.html?elr=KArksi8cyaiUo8cyaiUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aULPQL7PQLanchO7DiUr

Interesting fact...in 42 years before Coach J took the helm, Bethel football was 113-232-6... in his 22 years, Coach J is 156-73-1
