sounds like with the weather we're supposed to get tomorrow, if st. thomas had won last week, it could have been a fun game to watch...

:'(

Would have loved to have shot that game in that weather......*sigh*

Game would have been moved to the Dome.  I'd pick shooting in the cold and snow over the dome.

assuming that the dome isn't already hosting some other sort of event...

My junior year we had to relocate to the Fargodome to play Pacific Lutheran for the region title due to a whopper of a snowstorm and the fact that we had destroyed the grass at Clemens versus UW-Stevens Point the week before.

A tradition unrivaled...

Carbo and I witnessed both of those events.... we were two of several dozen in the cold cold rain on hand for the Point game and witnessed one of the greatest runbacks in college football history.  During the 4th quarter the Point punter supposedly had been instructed to punt out of bounds or at least away from BE.  Picking the ball up somewhere around the 20 or 30 of SJU, The Answer sloshed his way in ankle deep mud to football immortality.  It was crazy good.  Brandon Keller connected on either an extra point or field goal(hell, it was nearly 10 years ago...) to put up the necessary points.

We went from freezing rain one weekend to freezing temps and snow the next and on to the Fargo Dome with Rich Hall in tow.... burgers in the parking lot and a copy of the Rolling Stone with pictures of Brittney Spears that Rich obsessed over during the 3+ hour drive to Fargo...

Time to begin creating more Johnnie Football immortality....

Good luck to the Royals tomorrow..... we've all seen this tired act out of Alliance for far too long now.  I'd suspect Bethel has grown their kahonies large enough not to be too intimidated by this bunch.

Developing....

Dusty (and DuffMan),

Here is the  Scoring Summary from the UW-Stevens Point game:
3rd 07:10 SJU - Blake Elliott 89 yd punt return (Brandon Keller kick failed)                           UWSP 0 - SJU 6
4th 13:47 UWSP - Lance Gast 9 yd run (Ricardo Vega kick)5 plays, 49 yards, TOP 0:59,        UWSP 7 - SJU 6
       01:01 SJU - Brandon Keller 25 yd field goal                   15 plays, 61 yards, TOP 6:00,   UWSP 7 - SJU 9

I too was in attendance at those two games.  My biggest memories were of DuffMan's total domination of the line of scrimmage.   ;)

Unfortunately, I also attended the game the following week.  The thing I remember about that is the rain.  And the other team was really good.   :(  I believe there was some discussion about sprinklers.  (I'm sure that comment will get Raiderguy to come out of hiding.)

Wow, that run was longer than I had remembered..... my spine however is still tingling from that field goal, made in very adverse conditions.

Long live The Johnnies...

If any Bethel fans are in Alliance and wondering how to get the the Wing Warehouses, from the Holiday Inn, it's across the street and up towards Campus.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

I just saw on the Johnnie twitter feed that the #5 Johnnie wrestlers upset the #2 UW-LAX team.  That's quite a team those fellas are building.

And they beat UW-WW in the follow-up.  Quite a nice finish going into the Christmas break.

Just a reminder that the NCAA.com Video Broadcast of the National Semifinal game between Bethel and Mount Union will begin at 11:45am EST.  The easiest way to find the correct link is to go to http://www.d3football.com/schedule and click the "V" next to the score line for the game.  Brandon Stewart joins me on the call from Alliance.

It's getting to be that time of year.  The Oz Family Christmas Tree (tm) went up today.

Merry Christmas, all.
