Piloto has played less this year than many of Mount Union's backup QB's in recent memory.  Looks like it just took some time for he and the receivers to remember each other.

He's looked pretty good. Once he hit that third and 9 to Miller for the score, he's been unstoppable. Maybe Seaman getting hurt was a blessing for Mount.

Doesn't hurt that he has all day to throw.

24-7. Wow. Mount really came on after that slow 1st quarter.
UWW having trouble with Wesley, only up 10-7 at half.

More like two horrible throws by Brekke inside the 30 stall great drives. UWW is winning the battle in the trenches, just need to cut down on the mistakes.

You let a team hang around long enough......

One dimensional offenses don't fare well against Mount.

Bethel has 54 yards total so far.

Bethel has major problems on offense.  Look out if Mount gets any running game going.  One 3 yard drive.  I find in difficult to see a come back.

Mount's Speed on the edge is just ridiculous!  :-\

Consider that in their first meeting, Flaherty (#3) was able to play with Waldvogel and his speed. Against C. Shorts, it is a completely different deal! There is fast...and then there is Mt. Union fast.

Keep fighting guys! Show your character in the second half.

The talent gap between UWW, Mt. Union  (and evidently Wesley/NCC) and the rest of DIII seems to be more like a talent chasm!

At least for Wesley they always have the speed and talent players, they just lack somewhat in their line play.

Well, good season for BU...congrats to the seniors! Final 4 is nothing to be ashamed of.  They came out with more poise than the last time around vs. Mt Union, but they just don't have the horses to run with that team.

GOOD LORD I AM SICK OF THE UNION/WARHAWK BOWL!!!!  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I mean I know they are both awesome teams but come on every other team in the nation, nut up and win one already.

With a nod to Mount's speed, BU's tackling has not been good.

Life Long Tommie

Congratulation on a great season Royals. See you next year.

Congrats Royals! Great semi-final run. It's been a pleasure to watch and cheer for you all year long.

To the seniors, thanks for continuing to build the program. 2 trips to the semis in your years is a great accomplishment. You showed a lot of character today against a great team. You never quit, you fought all the way to the end, you made us proud.

No question that UWW and Mount are still the class of D3. NCC seems to have closed the gap a bit, but the purple powers are still sitting pretty.

Scary to think about how young Mt. Union is. They are loaded with sophomore and junior talent this year. They are only gonna be better next year. Not sure how senior laden UWW is.

Here's to a competitive Purple Bowl VI! Put on a show for the D3 faithful and the rest of the national viewers.

Congrats to Bethel on their play-off run.  I wonder how this game would have shook out if Seaman doesn't get hurt.  Piloto added a WHOLE other dimension that Mount hasn't had all year.  The kid has a HUGE arm, and he sure used it.
