Being a Knight fan, bummer about the DQ... I am not sure on the move to #2, the Johns were upset by Olivet. While not against the same competition, the Knights sent a 2nd team to the duals that went 4-0!!

In support of my argument: The Johnnies have beat numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the last two weeks.

Against my argument: The Knights second team went undefeated on the same weekend against someone.

As to losing to Olivet... The impact of that loss is that Wartburg stays number one?

Unlike some of my orange clothed brethren, I believe the Johnnies become and deserve to become the #1 rated D3 wrestling team.
I don't know if our hwt. thought he was Andra the Giant or Hacksaw Jim Reynolds.  It doesn't make any difference.  A loss is a loss and the rankings deserve to be shaken up.

It's been snowing here for 2 days now. Just talked to a friend of mine who says his wife does nothing but stare through the window.

I think they'll move up, but I am not sure #1 is warranted.  The Johnnie/Knight matchup was tied at 15 going into the HWT match, and Wartburg likely would have won that match, being that the Knight wrestler is the top-ranked HWT in the nation.  SJU did win the match, but I think it deserves an asterisk.  Beating #3 Coe should lend some credence to their cause.  Losing to #27 Olivet doesn't help them, but it was their third consecutive dual with no break, so guys were likely worn down.

Regardless, it places them amongst the best teams in the nation, which is a feat in itself, and says a lot about the state of wrestling in MN!

D1 - U of MN #3
D2 - St. Cloud State #2, MN State Mankato #6
D3 - Saint John's #5 (and climbing), Augsburg #6, Concordia #7

no need to bring up nordic ski..I think USJ and GAC are the only schools with that

did I leave any winter sports out? Oh yeah... hockey and hoops.....but USJ had been dominated in both of them for a while
