OzJohnnie, tough to watch the video of the flooding in Toowoomba and all the cars going down the stream.

Yeah.  It's crazy.  There is another town called Goodna and it was hit harder by the same flash flooding.  The Queensland police announced they expect more than 40 dead in total from this flooding.  But there are many tragic/heroic stories coming out that are amazing.

Bottom line, Australia is a country of extremes when it comes to weather.  Two years ago, half the country almost burns to the ground with over a hundred fatalities.  This year, almost half the country floods.

EDIT:  For instance this story about a 13-year-old boy named Jordan Rice.  His father is quoted, "He won't go down with any fanfare or anything like that - I don't think anyone will even wear a black armband for him - but he's just the champion of all champions, a family hero.''

Sometimes as the sign guy, it's better not to use as few letters as possible.

SUMMIT!!!!!

After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

It wasn't Goodna but Grantham that had been hit worse that Toowoomba.  Divers are beginning a search of this bridge an it's expected to be pretty grim.

EDIT: I know it isn't a really a topic for humor, but another small town is threatened with a record high flood level up rural Queensland.  The town is Goondiwindi.  The Aboriginal influence on town names in Australia, particularly in country Queensland, is fantastic.  There are some real classics.

Wow, lots of grim news from all around. I hope all the rest of you are safe and happy and warm!

Blake Elliott deserves his continuing accolades.

Here is one for you Oz, the other day I overheard a Tommie bragging about how he was doing it to his girlfriend and her twin.  The guy with him asked how he could tell them apart, whereby the tommie said her brother has a mustache.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Any surprise that the only MIAC team to have any players make the All-Decade First Team for 2000-2009 is SJU? :D Congrats to Blake Elliott and Jeremy Hood. No doubt if D3 would have named the coach of the century it would have been coach John Gagliardi.

Not to start a fight, but Larry Kehres would be the shoe-in for that award.  I don't think you could count the NAIA titles, and Kehres won D3 coach of the year 4 times in the 90s to go along with the 4 titles, as compared to zero Coach of the year awards and 1 d3 title in the 20th century for Gags.

On the other hand, Gagliardi is the only one who coached the entire century! ;D
