Oz, here's what I see:

Henle won in the prelims, lost in the quarterfinals
Sandy lost in the prelims, lost in the 1st round of consolation
Batsukh won twice in the prelims, won in the quarterfinals
Baarson won in the prelims, won in the quarterfinals
Pfarr won in the prelims, lost in the quarterfinals
Baxter won in the prelims, lost in the quarterfinals
Willaert won in the prelims, lost in the quarterfinals

A little bit rough in the quarters, but we've still got two alive in the championship bracket, and hopefully, the rest will battle back in the wrestle backs!

I watched the UMU/UWL heavyweight match online.  It was a good match.

Great job for the Johnnies on the weekend.  If you had a chance to watch the video, one guess as to which school provided the best cheering section.  Yes, a good weekend all around for the J's.

On Japan, what horrible news.  Two intriguing links for those interested:  The first is home video of a town as the tsunami hits.  For six minutes it just keeps getting worse.  I hate to think how the people shown at the end went when all the water washed out to sea again.  And the second is a great blog post from an Aussie in Japan who has a MIT research scientist friend familiar with nuclear power plant operation, Why I am not worried about Japan’s nuclear reactors.  Great reading.  More informed than any of that main stream media garbage they keep feeding us in the hopes that they get a good meltdown story.

Thanks Oz, great read there.  My brother is at the St John's sister Abbey in Fujimi and this helped more than that main stream media garbage they keep feeding us

Thanks, Oz.  Mrs. Duff's sister is a nuclear engineer for Excel--with that info under my hat, I'll have to quiz her  :o

Anyone know if this lockout will cancel the NFL this year?  I have only had time to read one quick article on Fox Sports so I am not keeping up with the story.  Is there a drop dead date for resolution to save the season?  Will the Johnnies be our only football fix this fall?

The JOHNNIES ARE the only football fix.  8-)

There hasn't been a drop dead date set and no one seems to be too panicked.  Still 4 months or so until the season starts.  The gut feeling I get is that there will be a full season and I would be surprised if more than a few games were cancelled.

Besides, there is always the Gophers.  ;D

Thanks, guys.  Also thanks to our own Purple Jesus I see that the slavery charge has been leveled.  Next step is Selma followed by NAZI!!!111!!eleventy!!11. Let's hope it gets there quickly so that it can all get finished.

But, really, is there any quicker way to turn off the fans than such ham fisted victimology?  Sigh.  57 is right.  The Johnnies are the only legitimate football fix.  In fact, I'm so uninterested in NFL at this moment that I could care less if ay this year or not.  What a disgrace that whole pack of bums is.

I just took a quick look at mlb.com to see how the Twinks have been doing in spring training.  Good golly.  Liriano is beyond getting shellacked.  He's even beyond getting shelled.  If he were in Lybia he'd be walking around with a great big sign reading "Bomb Here, Please!"

The other pitching staff seem to be holding together OK for spring training performance, but Liriano is not looking good.  He'll be starting the season in AAA, no?  If not, he'll be there before April is finished.

Last night I was sitting on the sofa watching TV when I heard my wife's voice from the kitchen.

"What would you like for dinner, my love? Chicken, Beef or Lamb?"

I said, "Thank you, I'll have chicken."

She replied "You're having soup, asshole. I was talking to the dog."
