California viewing party for Bethel / SJU game (maybe Clark can just drive to this one?)
https://www.csbsju.edu/sjualum/events/2011california-live-game.aspx

They throw parties in California only when we're not here.  There is some sort of reception in Santa Rosa (north of San Francisco) on the weekend of the Tommie game (where we will be), and now this viewing party for Bethel, but we'll be onsite, at SJU, for that one, too.  Maybe they just don't want us to come to any of their events. ???

Too bad they won't be streaming any games in Japan so #13 can watch.

The action on this board has really picked up!  Maybe I need to go on vacation more often.

Where are the fish pictures? 8-)

No lights at SJU this season  ;D

They're installing the lights near the track?  Did they borrow the installation instructions from UWRF. :-[  The lights should go behind the stands.

Yes another reason why games should be streamed!  Brain wizards @GoJohnnies.com take note.

Yeah, I thought they were supposed to be mixed in amongst the pines.  Time will tell, I guess.

It was pretty unremarkable fishing.  We caught some fish, but nothing photo worthy.  :-[

OzJohnnie

Yowza.  Another snapped shin bone this weekend.  It's a particularly hard run to the playoffs this year.

In other footy news, the Johnnies and Team USA won both of their group matches up in Sydney and are now in the championship bracket in the International AFL Cup.  If they win a couple more matches then they'll make the championship game which will be played as an opening feature to the Hawthorn vs Bulldogs match in two weeks at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.  I'll wear my Johnnie gear.

Interesting. Any word on why he decided not to return? Frank obviously didn't have anything official.

Any word on who the main contributors will be at WR now?

Last year 4 out of the top 7 receivers were running backs.  Only two Wide Receivers caught more than 20 balls and had only 7 touchdowns between them.   IMHO SJU needs to find a wide-out and a guy that can play the slot.
Not only do the Johnnies need to find a couple guys that can catch the ball and make plays they need to figure out who is going to be throwing them the ball.
Based on last year's receiving stats I would bet that Pederson, Grabowski, and Forster are the top three and the Voshell kid from Sartell that just transferred.  I also think the the Freetly kid will a lot of balls thrown his way at TE.

I agree, especially about the QB issue.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Here's a request for the JF.com crew.  How about talking to some players/coaches this year?  It would lend more interest and credibility to your stories and site.  I can only read so much about how great the Johnnie Nation is and which nicknames belong to who.  Thanks!

Not for JF.com, but I'll give an early tease for an early shameless plug. I'm doing some writing for a little site with a former newspaper co-worker of mine and I'm going to have a lengthy interview with former Johnnie quarterback Tom Linnemann sometime this week. I think people will really enjoy it, whether you're a Johnnie fan or not. Linnemann is all around the Twin Cities media scene these days and the interview is Tom at his best: entertaining and very opinionated, on a wide range of subjects.

So yes, a tease. I'll shamelessly put the link up when it's ready.

I will be looking forward to it. Perhaps I can pick up some pointers to polish my interview skills  ;)
